Worcester Location 4/15/2011

I started going to the Worcester loacation for the last 4 months and thought is was a good deal for food, service and price. Last week I noticed that the menu changed and so did the quality of the food. I had surf and turf and suddenly I realized that I was now eating at a regular family resuartant. \r \r Lest just say that based on the quality of the food now, that they show lower their proces a bit. I would have rated it a B+ in the past but now its a C+. more

Not a good first impression 11/11/2008

Went to the Worcester location on Nov 11th for dinner. \r Walked in and the restaurant was empty and the hostess was walking away from her guest desk telling us she would be right back....the dinning area had make three tables seated.\r \r With my wife seated we ordered clams casino for starters. What arrived was astounding on the scale of being understated and small. There was more lettuce in the center of the ""dinner plate"" than clams casino. The pieces of bacon on the individual clam shells was larger than the clam mix in the shell. The clam shells were not much bigger that a 50 cent piece. Six being the total on the plate. The presentation was lost on the plate. To be properly presented they should have been on a plate a bit bigger than a plate half that size. Re-think your presentations.\r \r Our Dinners: Fish & Chips and Fried Calamari. The meals were accompanied by cole slaw french fries and onion rings for me and tartar sauce. Again the meal was presented on much oversized dinner plates for the size of the portions. The first thing that came to mind was I am paying what I am for this serving size. I admit that I am a good eater and don't mind paying for a good meal. The batter on both meals was probably the best part. Not greasy and light not overcoming the flavor of the squid and fish. Although there could have been a bit more seasoning on both. The french fries were run of the mill out of the freezer but the onion rings weren't bad the batter stayed on the onion. To be very blunt a final verdict on the meal: I could go to my local diary Bar in town and get a much better Fish & chips say with sweet potato fries and a much better Fried calamari.\r \r The restaurant needs to re think its portion amounts, side items, plate size, and finallly give new life to their recipes. as of now no plans to re-visit. more

No Wonder Domino's Does So Well! 12/16/2007

The lack of expeirence with seafood, whether it's in the preparation or consuming it, seems to be the problem with the review's on this establishment thus far. It's apparent that there is a lack of either with any positive review's about this restaurant.\r \r The atmosphere is outdated, the preparation is sub-par, and the constant odor of unkept fryolator grease in the air, is much too evident in this restaurant's atmopsphere, to have a satisfying dining experience. It's no wonder that the windows remain opened, during the hot summer day's!!\r \r Thank goodness that Marlborough has better restaurant's to choose from for all of our dining pleasure!\r \r I gave this establishment two visits, to be fair, and on both occasion within a three month period, I was disappointed. If anything, it most certainly will keep hospitals in business, no doubt. Pros: Within walking distance to the Walgreen's Pharmacy Cons: The location more

Worst Chowder 11/20/2007

No way this place has good clam chowder! The rest of the menu was average at best. Don't waste your money here. Go to Legal Sea Foods for a great meal as well as great clam chowder. more

Solid lunch choice 5/23/2007

Seared tuna is nicely done. Steak sandwich could be a little bit better - just don't think the balance of acoutrements they use is quite right. Seafood gumbo and clam chowder are both well done. Fries are very good, crispy, not too heavy or greasy. Portions for lunch are the right size. Overall, the food part works out. The service is also excellent, and it's an attractive restaurant you can take a client to.\r \r You also get Upromise rewards points/Dining Network, whatever you in, which is plus. Pros: Ambience Cons: Maybe a bit pricey for lunch. more

Excellent Metrowest choice for Seafood 11/19/2006

Great seafood spot in Metrowest. The menu items and nightly specials, both lunch and dinner, are always well prepared. For lunch, specific items are identified for their prep time so that you know you can be back to your day in a reasonable amount of time.\r \r My only complaint is that the service is sometimes spotty. After an excellent meal, be sure to pop into the wine shop right next store to stock up! more
