We are new to the Portland area and have never boarded our dogs over night before. I checked around and Cooper Mountain seemed to be nice and their facility looked clean and friendly. We dropped our dogs off and were able to kennel them in the same kennel for $42 per night. I was shocked to learn that your $42 doesn't cover any human contact, just for them to stay in their 5 ft X 5 ft sleeping quarters with another 5 ft X 12ft ""run"" during the day. IF you wanted your dogs to have any play time, a walk or even to go to the bathroom outside the ""kennel"", you had to pay extra! $5 per session PER DOG! I called at 4:30 on Saturday afternoon to check on them and couldn't get a live person, I had to leave a message, and my call wasn't even returned until the next morning! For paying the amount we did for our dogs to be taken care of, Cooper Mountain's service was extremely below acceptable. They also only allow you to pick up your dogs between 4-6pm on Sunday, and of which they charge you for Sunday as well! We dropped our two dogs off at 11AM on Saturday and picked them up at 4PM on Sunday, bought 2 play times for each dog each day and it cost us $118!!!! I was already upset by that, when after checking out and putting them in the car, both dogs reeked of urine, especially my male dog's head! My dogs do not roll in any sort of secretion, so even with the play times we paid extra for, they were locked in their cage so long that my boy dog's head had to sleep in his own urine!! The checkout lady, April, was also non friendly and quite rude.I would never bring your beloved pets to this place!
