It's obvious from the outside that this converted home is more cozy and enjoyable than your average fabric store, but what's not obvious is that the prices are reasonable I hesitated going in at first, thinking my tight budget put a neighborhood boutique shop out of my range - but their prices were the same as I'd seen at the larger suburban shops that same week. An added bonus is that you'll save hours of browsing through tacky fabrics to find the few stylish options - Cool Cottons' selection is large enough to provide you with lots of fantastic and diverse possibilities, but small enough that they can't afford to waste space on the poorly printed teddy-bear-speckled discount fabrics that seem to fill other stores. On top of that, the owners are really nice. I'm very pleased to have this store in my neighborhood!
Pros: good selection, lovely environment, friendly owners, decent prices
Cons: just cottons (you'll have to go elsewhere for your silk charmeuse)
