Although most people in Tony's store are nice people, there's no getting around the fact that he is overpriced. A booster box costs 125 without tax, where you could find them for as low as 90 elsewhere. If you are looking for Magic, go elsewhere more

Contes Card Castle is the bomb. I love going here every time I head down the main avenue. I would definitely recommend this store if you are a collector or a card collector. This guy knows his stuff. I go to Conte's every time I am in Haddonfield and his store is awesome. I love collecting baseball cards now ever since I went there. He also has a very good sense of humor and i am friends with him, so every time i go to his store it is more amazing. I love to just hang out there. If any other card store came into Haddonfield, i would still go to Conte's. Because of the hospitality and variety of cards in his store, he has many valued customers that always enjoy going to his store. In conclusion, his store is just fun to go to. more

The store owner is a condescending pathological liar. He pays kids and customers in booster packs to write fake reviews on this website and other to make himself look better than he is. I have seen the owner do this personally.\r \r Do not ever go into his store expecting to get a ""deal"". His deals are equivalent to paying retail anywhere else. I went in with my son one day to purchase some pokemon packs (which are $1 more than anywhere else) my son opened one pack there and he insisted on telling my son that the cards he opened were worthless and that everyone donates those types of cards to him. \r \r In conversation he always has to one up you on whatever you have done....he has done it better. \r \r Will never return to this store more

I've known this guy for years. He's always been cool and always given me the best deals in town. We talk about all kinds of stuff, and he sells what you want. Highly recommended for trading card needs. more

I don't know what some of these other guys are talking about. The owner was pretty nice to me. My brother and I went to go check out his stock, and we chatted with the guy. He was pretty chill, and we had a few nice conversations. \r \r He sold things pretty alright, picked out a few Magic cards I wanted without buying endless packs, and checked out his rares and Planeswalkers without much hassle or 'arrogant' tones. No membership either.\r \r Prices seemed fair, if not under the average that tcgplayer lists them as. He had to go early, so he actually gave my brother and I a discount. I plan to go back, have some fun and meet some friends during tournaments. more

I'm not sure how he runs the sports section of his cards, but for Magic: The Gathering I would recommend staying away. He was not very supportive of the fact that I was a Legacy player and immediately started complaining about the format and telling me my deck choice was a bad idea. His prices are outrageous compared to most shops that actually claim to care about their customers. He claimed his suppliers for special box set marked up the prices so he had to, though they are distributed by Wizards directly. Overall, he claimed to be a fan of the game, but made sure to tell me how nice of a collection he had and that I should spend money on cards I don't want. Plus his prices are higher than the websites he was claiming were over priced. I also saw him talk down to a 12 year old kid asking about cool baseball card. -1 stars. more

Contes card castle is the best card shop I have ever been to . The owner is extremely nice and if your a huge fan of the phillies and you collect phillies cards then this is the place to go they have a ten cent box full of phillies cards. And he will give you great deals on Some of the cards I got a 57 topps card for ten cents and a1950s bowman card for 2 dollers . Sports cards aren't the only cards at contes there are also non sports cards there to . I recommend this shop for begginers and people who have been in the trading card business for years because there are great deals there on cards and the owner is very nice . Two other things great about contes card castle is that there are things called grab packs and you get awesome stuff out of them and there are also bins of semi stars and super star rookie cards for a doller each . That's why I think it is the best card shop in new jersey . more

Best collecting experience ever. They've been in business for over 15 years (and now I know why). I collect baseball and magic cards and both selections are amazing. Everything is well organized and easy to find and the owner is extremely helpful and knowledgable. The helpers are well trained and the owner took the time to answer all of my questions and even make some great suggestions for my collection. They have renewed my love for collecting cards again! They trade constantly and always buy back desirable cards at double the rate of what other stores are offering. Highly recommended! more

His cards are EXTREMELY over priced. Plus his deals on trades and buybacks are not even worth it. Seriously, if you want to sell your cards you are better off selling it to your little brother. You'll get a better deal. The owner tries to be nice but comes off with an air of arrogance. He will go on and on about what he has, or 'whats hot' rather than tending to his customer's needs. He forces kids to buy membership to get common or uncommon cards, and sets deals to favored customers. There are other local card stores that deserve more attention than Conte's, ones that treat a card collector with a little more respect. Either go somewhere else or get em' from ebay, either way it will save you the trouble. more

These People Have Been Duped 9/17/2011

Honestly, there is really very little to say about this store except the following: Carry a smartphone into the store, ask for the price of an item, then google the item in question. Nine times out of ten, you'll be gouged on it. The store owner is a real condescending-type of guy who will very regularly lie to your face with a smile. This isn't to say hes mean, hes just twofaced. The people who play cards in the store run the gamut from know-it-all elitists to hopelessly unable to play losers, and all points in between At the end of the day, he's ripping your children off. Please, parents, take thirty seconds, go to Amazon, Ebay, or Google, and find out the real prices before you throw money down a hole at the card castle more

contes card castle sells all sorts of cards lncluding WOW, MTG, and baseball cards! the store also sells card sleeves and bindors. and on friday and saturday the store is open extra late for people to play and trade cards! :D more

A great place to learn about collecting cards 8/16/2011

My six year old son became interested in baseball this summer and he decided to start collecting cards. He was spending his money (and some of mine) buying retail packs at Target and getting a ton of cards but with little value. Then we discovered Conte?s Card Castle. Mr. Conte has a deep enthusiasm for collecting cards and we have spent hours in his store learning about the nuances of the hobby. Now my son saves his money for hobby packs of Bowman Platinum and Topps Lineage and has pulled several cards that will grace his collection for years to come. Collecting cards is the perfect father/ son activity. It enhances our knowledge of baseball, inspires my son to do yard work and provides an opportunity for me to teach him the fundamentals of economics. My son and I are looking forward to our next trip to Conte?s card castle. more

Arrogant, thinks he is smarter than you! 3/27/2011

So, they guy has a lot of vintage knowledge but over charges big time for current phillies. Thinks you should pay more because he owns a buisness. I know ebay is way cheaper then most shops but why should I pay double for a card? I was looking at a Ruiz auto that books for like $10 bucks. He was selling for $15 and ebay you cant get the card for $6. I offered $10 telling him the ebay price, and I was told "" to get it there"" I never pay full book and I think its crazy he would lose a customer over that. more
