CT Humane Society / Fox Memorial Clinic 5/10/2012

I have been to CT Humane Society many times, just kinda looking...who knows what will reach out to me ? I have also been to the Fox Memorial Clinic for many routine low cost spay/neutering, shots, deworming, tests, etc.both dog and cat under 1 year of age. The staff were not the friendliest, and only did what was barely necessary to get the animal into thier care, they were not considerate of the animal's feelings at all. They listed my two male cats as "Beware-Bites and Scratches" I laughed, these are the two friendliest cats that love people to pieces, and the staff couldn't take the moment or two to make an introduction to calm the animal? Of course, they are busy and very jammed with the workload, but it may help if the secretaries or vet techs didn't stand around and complain about different animals and thier owners after they left-I caught a whole conversation on a "disliked" customer and the quality of her dog's care. My pet's have all come back well done and up and moving in a day or two, I have had some other vets cut the animal so much the poor cat couldn't move right for a week. The cost is a good price for the vet's participation if you can get past the front desk crap Pros: null Cons: null more

VERY RUDE BREED DISCRIMINATING STAFF 8/14/2007

THEY HAVE LOW COST VET SERVICES BOTH OF MY MALE CATS NEUTERED & SHOTS FOR 150.00 HAD NO PROBLEMS.I DECIDED TO GO BACK TO THEM W MY 7 MONTH OLD PUPPY FOR A CHECK UP AND ROUTINE VACS.SHE WAS EXCITED TO BE IN A NEW PLACE AND WANTS TO BE EVERYONES FRIEND. WHEN I GOT INTO THE EXAM ROOM THE THE VET ASSISTANT WAS VERY RUDE DID NOT SHOW ANY KIND OF COMPASSION FOR MY DOG DIDNT PET HER OR LET MY DOG SMELL HER HAND. THEN TELLS ME SHES GOING TO TAKE HER INTO THE BACK TO DO BLOODWORK MY DOG WAS UNCOMFORTABLE AND DIDNT WANT TO GO W HER..SHE THEN DRAGGED MY DOG INTO THE ROOM I WATCHED HER STRADLE MY DOG AND TRY TO PUT A MUSSEL ON HER..MY DOG WAS SCARED AND TRIED TO GET AWAY FROM HER THERE WAS NO REASON FOR HER TO DO THAT TO MY DOG SHE IS NOT AGGRESSIVE AT ALL....WHEN THEY BROUGHT HER BACK INTO THE EXAM ROOM THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO PUT THE MUSSEL ON HER..SO I TOLD MY DOG TO SIT AND I PUT IN ON HER SHE DIDNT LIKE IT AT ALL AND WAS TRYING TO TAKE IT OFF THE VET ASSISTANT STARTED TO YELL AT ME TELLING ME I HAD TO FORCE MY DOG TO WALK SO SHE COULDNT GET IT OFF I TOLD HER SHE UNCOMFORTABLE AND SHE NEEDS REASSURANCE THAT ITS OK SHE DIDNT WANT TO HEAR THAT AND CONTINUED TO YELL AT ME TO FORCE MY DOG TO WALK INSTEAD OF PET HER AND REASSURE HER.BOTH THE VET AND ASSISTANT SHOWED ABSOLUTELY NO COMPASSION FOR MY DOG AT ALL.THE VET DIDNT EVEN EXAMIN MY DOG THOROUGHLY..YET THERE WAS A VERY AGGRESSSIVE 2 TIMES THE SIZE OF MY DOG GROWLING AND BARKING AT OTHER PEOPLE AND ANIMALS AND THE STAFF DIDNT MAKE THAT DOG WEAR A MUSSEL.THEY WORK WITH DOGS EVERY DAY AND SHOULD KNOW WHEN A DOG IS AGGRESSIVE OR NOT..SCARY THAT THESE IGNORANT BREED DISCRIMINATING PEOPLE WORK AT THIS PLACE..I DONT WANNA KNOW HOW THEY TREAT PITBULLS AT THE SHELTER..WHEN I ASKED FOR MY DOGS TEST RESULTS I WAS RUDELY YELLED AT THAT I HAD TO WAIT A FEW MORE MINS. Pros: LOW COST Cons: BREED DISCRIMINATING IGNORANT RUDE STAFF more

Staff loves the animals here! 10/12/2005

I have had a half dozen experiences in this location - all of which were positive. The staff truly love the animals and treat them with so much kindness. The areas for the animals are clean and humane. When adopting, they truly try to get to know the potential new owners to ensure that the animal(s) is going into a good home. I have adopted most every animal during my lifetime from this location and highly recommend them! more
