I have a 3 and 5 year old boy. This past Sunday we were together as a family and decided to drive to Connecticut Golf Land. Having not read any reviews, we were very open minded about our destination, but that changed quickly as we pulled into the parking lot and noticed the run down conditions. The grounds are not kept up at all. Because we had driven for the 30 minutes we were forced to go inside to see. You first enter into a poor excuse for a ""party"" area that was not being used for more then another storage area. The smell is that of a community locker room to a public swimming pool. Quickly ushering the kids thru the arcade (no pinball with a bunch of high school boys cursing over a game of air hockey) we arrive at the ticket window for the carts and golf. Prices looked very reasonable but the old saying of you get what you paid for quickly came into play. After the young lady at the ticket window finished with her text message I asked for tickets to mini golf and about the Kid Motor Cars. The young lady told me that they weren't working currently (see other reviews of when they did work, 3 years ago) but she did let me play mini golf for free and only charged for the children. The mini golf course was awful. The purple fake grass was ripped and damaged. The starting points for each hole was a piece of green grass that was probably extra from some guys car garage. NONE of the obstacles were working. My sons shot stopped on the bridge and because of the condition I was afraid to step on the bridge thinking I would end up in the mosquito pool located under the bridge. When we finished we made our way over to the raceway. All 3 cars were running that day (two singles and 1 double) so we had to wait for the other people to finish. As we waited we were educated about the night life of Vernon graduates. The cars were extremely out of date with the fastening systems not entirely working. The ride itself lasted 5 minutes or so. The best part was watching the kids that work their ""drift"" the cars into positioning while standing one foot on the gas, and flooring it around the corner. Upon leaving the carts we walked by the brownish green water of the water boats to see how they looked. If the water in the pool didn't turn you off, the fact that they spray that water on top of you as you drive the boats might make you think differently. While walking to the car we did spot a wild rabbit, finally something I can speak nicely about. AVOID THIS PLACE
Pros: subway located close by
