Congressional Electric INC

This was the worst of 5 companies that came out to give me quotes. I am moving and replacing an electrical panel and it will be around a $4000 job. This company mentioned that they would come out to move a switch and an outlet. When they came, which they were late, it was a young girl that hardly knew anything about electric work. She had to take a bunch of pictures and call other people for answers. Not only was it a complete waste of time from my project, but she started mentioning that I needed building permits for non-electrical work that I was completing, which was unnecessary stress and totally false. In the end, she said that she would send a quote by the end of the day and it has been 4 days and I never heard from her again. I could not believe that this company would have the audacity to send someone this inexperienced for a high caliber job and ironically enough her title on the business card is President. I DO NOT RECOMMEND and if I could I would give this company negative stars. more

I would not recommend this company to anybody. Schedule an appointment for electrical work on a Saturday. Cleared my day for arrival. I made a call the day before to confirm arriving time, get a general voice message which states unavailable ""but return calls within 15 minutes"" and left message. No call back at all. Company never called back or show up at schedule time on a Saturday. I telephone 3 more times never received a call back. Dont' use them unless you like leaving messages on general message machine wondering where in the hell they are!!!! Pitiful customer = Pitiful company! more

We hired Congressional to install new outlets and lights in an unfinished room and to do a heavy up. Initially we were very impressed with their responsiveness in getting us a quote and setting a date. The big problem was on communication after the first technician showed up. After we had the inspection we sent a list of remaining work on the contract to the office and scheduled to have someone come out. They did not show up on the day we planned, telling us they had us down for the next day instead (and we had in an email agreement on the date, to prove the fault wasn't ours.) In communicating what work was left, we'd sent at least three emails (one immeditiately after the inspection saying what was left) and then two before the work, to ensure the tech had the right materials. It was clear that the dispatcher thought much more had already been completed after the first round than had been...and the tech who showed up was also surprised by how much work was left, even thought we had written in three e-mails what had been completed and what had not. In the end, the tech did good work (although one of the outlets was never connected as we just found out when we went to plug something into it and there's no current to it at all.) We requested an update after each visit to get a new invoice, and only got one at the beginning...we haven't gotten any response to subsequent e-mails to get a final invoice and it has been over a month since the work was completed. Overall, they were able to do the work quickly, largely everything worked when they were done, and the price was very competitive. The downside is we had to take extra time off from work because of the mix up in scheduling, and for having to have a second inspection after the first work didn't pass initially. We also were pretty frustrated with the communication side and worried that without being so proactive in reiterating what had not yet been done, that the techs would have shown up without the materials to complete the project. more

I have no idea what happened to Congressional. I have used them in the past and was very impressed with their professionalism and service. This last job had two different technicians. The forst was excellent, professional and left my home cleaned up. The second seemed less sure of himself and left a mess even though he cleaned up. Also, a very small detail, the plates to cover the new light switch as well as the existing was never provided. It was promised several times but never materialized. This is less than a $10 item but now no one will return my calls and it has completely soured my impression of this company. more

Highly recommended. They did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it all at a good price. No complaints! more

We have had a very good experience with Congressional. They arrive on time and the prices are comparable. We have found that if there is anything that we need that they take care of it promptly. I have referred them to other businesses as well due to the high quality of work they have shown us. more

We used and continue to use Congressional Electric for all our electrical needs. They came on time and got the work done in a timely manner. The staff were all very friendly from the initial phone call to the service men who came and did the work. I would highly recommend them and plan on using them again in the future. more
