Move Cirque du Soleil 4/24/2011

Coney Island is a wonderful park and my family has enjoyed it for the last 50 years. However, if I may make a comment, knowing that Coney Island floods almost every April, why would you schedule an event like Cirque du Soleil in April? So far, all performances have been cancelled because of flooding. Why don't you try to save the rest of the performances and move them to another location? King's Island parking lot is not being used right now and would be an excellent location to set up the tent and have plenty of room left for parking. Our kids are coming down from Columbus next Saturday and we have tickets for all of us to go see OVO's 4:00 performance. Chances are they will be cancelled. I know that Coney Island wouldn't benefit from the Cirque moving but it would be a nice gesture to suggest they move to a location that is not flooded and salvage some of their scheduled performances. Thanks for listening.\r \r Jan Machnovitz more

The Island Queen Trip to Coney Island 8/21/2010

Cruising The Ohio River \r In the late 1930's, we lived within sight of the Ohio river on second street in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is approximately where the Cincinnati Reds baseball stadium stands now. There were railroad tracks that ran just 25 feet behind our house, Freight trains rumbled by on a regular basis. These were the big powerful steam engines that chugged and belched steam as a column of smoke arose from it's stack. Also directly behind our house was the storage yard for huge empty steel boilers lined up in rows, some of which were touching each other, some a yard or so apart. These were huge things measuring about 20 feet long and 8 feet high. These became my playground as I loved to jump from one to another like an obstacle course. It's a wonder I didn't break my neck. During the long hot summers we sought relief from the heat in many ways. I remember some nights when we would lay down homemade quilts on the fire escape outside our second floor window in hopes of catching more

local amusement parks 7/6/2010

Every summer we spent a weekend at Coney Island! It was great! I loved Lost River!. During the summer we spent time at Lesourdesville Lake, which was another fun place in Ohio for an affordable place to take your family. Not even like King's Island! That is a total rip-off! more

My Memories of Coney 6/30/2010

I use to go to coney when I was a kid growing up in columbus, I really enjoyed the park and everything about it! I use to deliver the Columbus Dispatch and use to win a trip to coney every year it was offered for selling so many subscriptions. I saw reviews on here about how old the park was compared to Kings Island, well all I can say is they should have seen it back in the 50's and 60's, it was the place to be. They need to check out the Video on you tube about " A dream of a Par" that will show them what coney use to be. I visited coney last year and it brought back some fond memories and maybe oneday the park will come back to life, even if it was built around Lake Como like it use to be years ago! more

Coney Island is a good time 6/22/2009

The pool is a good time. Lots of room to lounge, but good luck finding a chair to sit or lay in. If you are not there by 11am, you are out of luck. Seems most of the members like to come early and "save" chairs for their friends that don't show up for hours, meanwhile the people that are there don't get a chair. I have seen people argue over the chairs and steal them from people too. It's gonna get ugly there one day over a dumb chair. more

We love Coney Island 6/11/2008

We have been coming to Coney Island amusement park since my kids were really little. Usually, we arrive after 4pm, and buy the wristbands. Really cheap fun. Sometimes if there is no line, the ride operator will just let you stay on the ride, over and over again. (My daughter once rode the carousel over ten times in a row.) It is just really easy. Walk around a little, ride some rides, win some prizes, see a "show" and head back to the car -- a nice, low stress outing. more

good fun 6/9/2007

we had a great time. We had a b1g1free coupon from school so it was not expensive but I was surprised that it was just as much for a summer pass as King's Island is. Good kid's park and not too busy on the day we went. We did not get to see a lot or ride too much because of Summer Fair, so check the schedule before you go so you get all you can while you are there. I would come back, but only if we had coupons again. With a large family it gets too expensive. Oh, and one more good thing, the swimming gift shop was not outragous on price, very reasonable. more

fun 11/17/2005

Coney Island has been around for years! I remember going here as a kid and having a blast. They have a humgous swimming pool, with a few differen't levels for diving boards. They have rides, and slides, and food. What is my favorite is the huge area they have for sun bathing. The price to get in is not that bad either. And you can usually find a coupon for admisson in the newspaper. more

We all love Coney! 11/17/2005

There are 4 children in my family, and they all love Coney Island. From the rides to the pool, every time we go there for the day, it's a great family experience. The staff there is attentive and helpful, the environment is clean. The food choices are pretty good (can't beat Skyline and a beer!) and if you buy a summer pass, the cost is low for the entertainment received. PROS: Low cost entertainment for long summer days CONS: $$ for food purchased there more

HUGE pool 11/13/2005

I love going to Coney Island. They have a huge pool called "sunlight" pool, water slides, a kids pool, and other the other side of the park there are even roller coasters, bumper cars, bumper boats, and all sorts of rides. They even offer music concerts on one side of the park. The prices are decent too. more

Boardwalk feel amusement park 11/11/2005

Coney Island is the home of Sunlight pool, one of the largest outdoor pools in the nation. The pool is huge and has sufficient shallow and deep sections. Maybe not the best place to take lots of little ones, but fun none the less. There are a few in-pool water slides with two giant slides along side. The park provides plenty of chairs and tables to set your belongings. The pool is a little vast so it is difficult to find one another if you go in different directions. Coney Island also sports a boardwalk style amusement park. The roller coasters are not high, fast or twisty, but are fun for younger children. Lots of fun rides for little ones. more

Good Price 11/10/2005

I have been coming here since i was a kid, and continue coming. This place is really fun for kids. They have a pool and water slides. They also have rides, not too many but enough fun ones. The prices are fair also. Only bad thing about it, is that it's usually packed, so it's really hard to find somewhere to sit. more

Fun, Fun, Fun! 10/21/2005

Did I say fun? Because Coney Island is FUN! At the Coney Island in Cincinnati, you can also have a banquet or reception. My friend had her wedding reception here. It was a blast! She has kids and there was something for everyone at Coney Island. It has a pool that's really fun. You can find discounts sometimes in the newspaper. Coupons, too. Arrive early if you want close parking. It fills up fast! The rates are good, too. It's definitely fun for all ages. Safe, clean. Good staff. And FUN!!! more

Great pool 9/2/2005

Coney Island only has two things going for it: the giant pool and the admission prices. The rides are old and horrible compared to Kings Island. The place itself is very small. They do host some decent festivals throughout the year, like the Appalachain Festival and the Spring Festival. Keep an eye out for coupons. They are usually floating around. more

One of the best times 7/17/2005

Coney island is a good time for the whole family. It's cheap and after 4 it is even cheaper. They have sunlite pool which is big and it has water slides too. It is an old park but so much fun. You walk right on to the rides and can ride over and over again. It's so much fun and they have a huge parking lot. more
