Best rides for little kids 7/3/2009

If you have kids that are less than 48" tall, the Coney Island rides are the best bang for your buck. If you go to Kings Island you will be disappointed with paying a huge admission price and then being trapped in less than ¼ of the park (because that’s the only place your kids will be able to play). At Coney, kids that are just 36” tall are allowed to ride some pretty good rides with an adult (much better rides than Kings Island, which has much higher height requirements for similar rides). It’s quick, cheap and easy. You can do everything in just a few hours (your kids only last that long anyway). more

Big pool and bigger crowd 11/13/2005

Coney Island is supposed to have the largest swimming pool in the area, however along with that comes an even larger crowd. Especially on the weekend, good luck getting a lawn chair or even a spot on the grass. The pool is pretty crowded unless you go into the deepest area, where a life guard in a boat inevitably prevents you from swimming. I vote for sticking with your local community pool. more

Great pool 9/1/2005

Coney Island only has two things going for it: the giant pool and the admission prices. The rides are old and horrible compared to Kings Island. The place itself is very small. They do host some decent festivals throughout the year, like the Appalachain Festival and the Spring Festival. Keep an eye out for coupons. They are usually floating around. more

King's Island Alternative 8/19/2005

If you’re looking for a King’s Island alternative with a cheap price tag, look no further than Coney Island. It’s more of a kiddy park with a huge wave pool. It’s entertaining for a few hours with the right group of friends. It’s pretty cheap and rightfully so…it’s old skool…and I mean OLD. It really needs a face-lift, but for the price, you really can’t beat it. more

go for the Sunset Pool! 8/16/2005

This is a smaller, less expensive amusement park. Better for the younger age group of kids, in terms of mostly classic rides and nothing unusual or extreme. Also has nice gardens & paddle boats on the lake. Best part is definitely the enormous Sunset Pool, which is like a small lake with multiple slides of different sizes. If you go in the evening, you can get a cut in the price. more

Summer family fun 8/15/2005

Coney island has the largest pool that I know of in the area. It is perfect for families - adults have a large deep area to swim in, and kids have their own shallower end to enjoy. There are also slides and rides outside of the waterpark area, vending stand and plenty of space to lounge around the pool. Usually on the weekends it gets very crowded - bring your own chair if you don't want to lay on the grass. Come early to get a nice spot. more

wet and wild family fun 8/1/2005

coney island is fun for the whole family they have a huge pool. Then they also have a separte area for rides. During the summer they offten host events like the annual balloon glow. The park often has coupons out and they also offer season passes.I would recomend this place to anyone who wants to find a fun way to stay cool in the hot summer months. more

A bit of something for everyone 7/28/2005

Coney Island offers a little bit of something for everyone. Coney Island is the home of Sunlight pool, one of the largest outdoor pools in the nation. The pool is huge and has sufficient shallow and deep sections. There are a few in-pool water slides with two giant slides along side. The park provides plenty of chairs and tables to set your belongings. The pool is a little vast so it is difficult to find one another if you go in different directions. Coney Island also sports a boardwalk style amusement park. The roller coasters are not high, fast or twisty, but are fun for younger children. Lots of fun rides for little ones. more
