Saved Soda Soaked NOOK. The wife got sand and soda in her out of warranty NOOK while at the beach, and it stopped working. So when I got home, I took it to Dave for a miracle (plus I did not want to have to buy a new NOOK). He cleaned it out & soldered something on the board; now it works like new. He also backed up all her stuff on a flash drive so she will not risk loosing her data. All of this was much CHEAPER than buying a new Nook. more

Repaired electrical short in notebook.My notebook was acting up, so trying to make sure my power plug was in ok, I pushed the plug all the way in. With it still on, I could hear it rattling around inside. Guess I shorted something out, because my notebook died. I called around & this place at least gave me hope. Dropped it off & the next morning they called with the estimate. The next day & $140.00 later my notebook was back to me working BETTER than ever. They replaced the plug & even killed a couple of viruses they found. I highly recommend this place to everyone. They do very good work. more

Repaired while I was at breakfast. Took my computer to Computer-Help at 9:00am then went to breakfast. While eating, I got a call saying my power plug needed replacing, and approved the repair. As I was driving home, I got a call saying that my computer was ready. I went back to computer-Help, tested my computer, paid, and was mowing grass by 1:00. They even cleaned the thing up some. Talk about good service; I am very impressed! more

Super job! Found the positive reviews on the net & called this place. The location was easy to get to, & so I dropped off my computer within the hour. The guy called me that afternoon & asked a couple of questions. At 4:30 he called & said my computer was repaired & would be ready for pick up at 7:00am the next morning. (It needed security updating over night.) Oh boy, my computer has never worked so good, & it is really fast now!! This was well worth the money I spent -- & a lot cheaper than a new computer! more

Painless House Call! Davis solved all our work, home, & remote printer problems. 1 by 1 after we all lost the ability to print anything; I called Davis. Having literally spent almost 3-hours on the phone with RR tech support, I had Davis come over. He repaired 1 printer; synchronized both printers for everyone to use remotely; linked in 4 Android phones & fixed the wife??s iTunes problems. He is one smart dude, & can repair everything. My kid COLORED on my iPad with dry erase MARKERS; but they did not erase. I was afraid to try & clean it with stuff that would melt the surface, & also was worried about scratching the screen & pressing too hard. They took the thing apart & cleaned my screen. Everyone else in town wanted to change out the screen at over $100.00, but this place said they would try to clean it first. They only charged me for 1hour of labor. For less than $75.00, the thing looks like new; the only mark still left on it is a scratch on the case which I did. Keep your kids away from your iPad (& markers). This company is worth knowing about. more

Fixed my Smart Phone! Knocked my Verizon smart phone into a sink of dirty dishes & soapy water. (Per the web, tried to dry it out in some rice, but after 2 days still got nothing.) With nothing to loose, I called this place, & was told to drop it off. Just after lunch the next day they called me using my fixed phone. I picked up my phone after work & everything is restored an functioning like new. Very happy I called, this is the best $58.00 I ever spent. more

They put a new fan in my laptop. Best price in town: with labor it was under $100. They cleaned the thing up so it looks like brand new. They also fixed the software so it is running faster. This place gave me a great deal. They got my laptop back to me real fast too. My laptop got a new fan, & I am a new fan of this company! more

When our SERVER crashed, we thought it was the end; & of course we had no recent backup. Computer Help was able to perform data recovery & upgrade our old server which is still working 5 years later. We were extremely pleased; & continue to use Computer Help for ALL our computer issues. This company is so good, we contracted with owner Davis McCarn to do all our IT work. 24/7 Davis is available for our call, and our older equipment is still running as if it were brand new. Sunday night my computer stopped and would not turn back on. With finals due, I called Computer-Help that night and explained my situation. Dave's the ONLY person to make me not HATE my computer. My computer?s only for personal use, & over the years all have given me trouble, & needing repair. This never helped much, so I'd buy a new computer, & start over. When my 2-month old computer started acting crazy, I searched the web for answers. By a miracle I found Computer-Help, & called them. After chatting, the owner asked me to bring my computer in, & I explained I was in San Diego, CA. However, filled with so much hope, I packed my off to NC. Within days, I was told what was going on with my computer, & a week later my computer was back in my hands working beautifully. Davis McCarn is the BEST computer ?guy? I have ever dealt with! This place can fix anything! I have taken computers here for repair since college, and should have left a review earlier. Each time the computers have come back in much better shape than they were to begin with. For the outstanding work this business does, the prices are very reasonable. Thanks for coming over so fast!! Night before last, my computer stopped & would not turn back on. With a paper due & finals this week, I called Computer-Help & explained my situation. (The owner is sympathetic to college students in dire straights w/deadlines) The owner came by around 8:00pm that night, & picked my computer up. I picked up my FIXED computer 14 hours later ? no kidding!!! Not only did they do data recovery and fix my problem, they also went in and put up new security for me. I left this review on another site & wanted to be sure to do it on here too. I cannot stress enough that if you are having computer problems & are in the Charlotte area, call this guy. Do not go anywhere else -- this place is the best, & you will not be disappointed. These people are number 1 in my book for computers. I have used them three times in the last year for a broken laptop, bad hard drive, & an iPad Trojan; each time I got great service. If you need computer repair, they will even come to your home, work or wherever is convenient for you, so they can work on your computer. The prices are ok, too. Brilliant, Reliable Service, Integrity I found Dave McCarn over 7-years ago when I was in desperate need of data recovery. Though my computer had not crashed & was still working, the big box stores told me nothing could be done to find my files. In utter dismay, at 6:30 pm, I began calling local data recovery specialists. I figured if anything, I could leave a message. When I called Computer-Help, Dave answered the phone! After chatting for only about five minutes, I hung up with an appointment for early the next morning, & realistic hope that my files could be found! Before 10:00 am the next day, my data had been recovered. *** Since this was my personal computer, I was nervous about just how much this service was going to cost; and I knew my budget wouldn't allow me to spend thousands like a business can. Much to my relief, I found Dave's fee VERY reasonable. Now, almost 7-years later, I can honestly say that I can't afford NOT to use Computer-Help. *** In many ways Dave's most valuable help was when I upgraded to a new computer. With his advice, I purchased a very reasonable computer, & avoided overspending on utilities I didn't need. I then took both my old & new (in the box) computer to Dave. Not only did he transfer my data from one machine to the other. He tailored my new computer just for me. Now my very reasonable computer is a customized dynamo. According to Dave, the best way to avoid computer disasters is to set up & configure a computer when it is FIRST powered up. *** I'm pleased to say I no longer have an adversarial relationship with my computer. Computer Crashed Monday Night. I took my computer in Tuesday morning & Dave recovered my files. I bought a new computer & dropped it off for file transfer at lunch on Tuesday.
