Editorial review from Citysearch 7/9/2013

I will NEVER take my child here again! The reviews below are so true! Dr Carroll is the only good thing and person on this office. The people in the front and the nurses do not care about the parents or the children! They are all just numbers! Lisa is one of the rudest , and uncouth people I have ever encountered. However all of the people in the office are rude, uncouth, disrespectful, selfish, uneducated, not helpful in any way, uncaring, and they are all there for paychecks which none of them deserve! I am sorry that I ever brought my child there for the first year of his life. Dr. Carroll should realize how bad these people are and go to a different office or they are going to cost him a lot of patients. I have also never came across a Dr.s office that NEVER answers the phone and does not call people back for three days. My sister and I have both left this facility hoping to find a pediatrician as good as Dr Carroll and to not find people as bad as the ones in this office!! more

""This is a business"" - your child is not the #1 priority 9/30/2011

If I could them zero stars I would. We moved to this practice when Dr. Carroll moved because he had treated our daughter as a toddler.\r However, we can not continue to see this fabulous physician because the attitude and exact words from this medical practice is ""this is a business"". What about the need to care for sick children?\r Lisa in the office is rude, uncaring, and more concerned with her own personal paycheck and potential bonuses for collections than the health of a sick child. She is unwilling to cooperate with the insurance company by resubmitting the unpaid claim and refused to let my daughter be seen by the doctor unless she was paid.\r After 1 call to the insurance company myself, I was advised that they spoke to Lisa and that my daughter could be seen so an appointment was made later in the day. When she returned later with her father a bill for $64.00 was demanded and Lisa asserted again that she did not need to resubmit the claim that it is the insurance company's responsibility to simply pay the amount due. When trying to discuss this with the doctor he said, ""I don't believe anyone but Lisa - this is a business"".\r I tried to call and got only voice mail - no option to speak to a person.\r Tsk Tsk Tsk - this is not a medical practice; there is no adherence to the hypocratic oath; this is only a BUSINESS. more

This Practice Needs to Clean House 5/24/2011

First of all, I gave two stars only for the docs and nurses in the practice. otherwise, it would be none based on the horrendous ""service"" provided by the office staff. Besides the generally indifferent attitude displayed by the woman who ""greets"" patients, I have experienced so much difficulty trying to communicate about the issues we've had pertaining to billing and scheduling that I finally moved my children to a new practice. I am currently in collections for a no-show fee that I have disputed and provided explanation for multiple times over but, apparently, human error only exists on the part of the patient. I am also being assessed a 20 00 fee by the office for them sending the fee to collections. Also, don't expect to talk to any of the physicians about non-medical issues. I left a message to talk to our physician about the reasons were were leaving the practice and we were called by a member of the office staff and told we had to call back and leave another, detailed, message - even though we had already mentioned in the original message that it was a non-emergent matter. This practice would be great if not for the hassles encountered with staff outside of the exam room. I hope, someday, the physicians in this group re-evaluate the quality of the staff they currently have representing them. more

We love our Pediatrician 3/22/2011

We have been seeing Dr. Featherman and his nurses at Comprehensive Childcare for 18 yrs. They have seen all four of our children. We love them and have never been treated unfairly or without caring concern for all of the children. Our kids have grown up with the staff at Dr. Featherman's office and enjoy letting them know about all of the neat things going on in their lives at the yearly exams. When sick they have been very understanding and are helpful with advice and offering an appointment. I love the sick clinic they offer in the morning to see my ill child before I go to work. As you can see I do not have anything but great things to say about Comprehensive Childcare. If you ask around you will see that there are many families that feel the same way. more

Your Children Deserve much better 11/19/2010

I was lured into this office because as a new mom I was easily convinced while recovering in the maternity ward, doctors from this office routinely search for new customers in Sarasota Memorial. Yes you are nothing but customers to them. They are there to make money, which is OK, but my problem is they do not put your child's well fare as a top priority. Don't expect to get advice from a nurse over the phone, but do expect to get impatient grouchy Dr. Murphy while you are calling at 10pm with your 1st child in your arms crying from gastroesophageal reflux. She told me ""if this is going to be a extended session we will have to bill you. well you should just go to ER if the child's very upset."" instead of giving me any of the many remedies now I know of. If you do go there, word of advice, ask for a receipt for any payment you made, they won't give it to you when you hand over your money. and I've been paying copay for almost a year while my insurance company been covering certain type of care for 100% all these time. And GOOD LUCK with getting your money back, matter of fact GOOD LUCK if you can get a live person over the phone, unless you are calling to make an appointment. Sorry for the long review but Your Children Deserve much better. more
