Take No Responsibility for Negligence 3/17/2015

I was forced to bring my bearded dragon to Como Park Animal Hospital as my normal reptile veterinarian's clinic was not open on a saturday afternoon. While under Como Park Animal Hospital's care, my bearded dragon consumed a large section of paper towel. She has no access to paper towel in my home and could not have possibly been bought with it as she was a mere 12 grams, now over 300. After consuming the paper towel, she was unable to swallow, became severely dehydrated and emaciated due to her inability to eat. It took us 4 months and 1000$ to figure out what was going on as I was unaware of the paper towel blocking her esophagus. My bearded dragon went through immense suffering as she endured diagnostic tests, treatments, multiple fluids, injections, medications, etc. etc. etc. When I brought this to Como Park Animal Hospital's attention, they not only made up inaccurate excuses to deflect the blame, but wouldn't even acknowledge the fact that it was even possible it occurred more

I know for an absolute fact, and would bet my life on it, that my dragon consumed the paper towel at Como Park Animal Hospital. I am a veterinary student at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Thus, I understand mistakes happen, but I am disappointed and ashamed at the response of my future colleagues. DO NOT bring your animals here. If a mistake occurs, they will not assume any responsibility and your animals health, wellbeing, and quality of life is NOT worth the risk. I was not expecting any monetary compensation but simply an acknowledgement that a mistake could have occurred and that they will prevent such occurrence in the future. I received nothing but denial, lies, and excuses. more

Way too expensive 11/1/2012

Office staff and employees are very friendly. Everything is way too expensive there. A friend's pet was charged $500 less than mine for the same procedure. Some doctors there only care about high charges just to make money. Go somewhere else if cost is an issue. more

Expensive 3/24/2011

My friend works at an animal hospital and took a look at my itemized vet bill. She was shocked at how much they were charging. I have spent over $1000 on my cat's bladder infection. The first 500 was spent on the initial visit itself.\r \r If price is not an issue for you and you'd rather your animal be prodded than poked (referring to the urine sample extraction choice), the facility is beautiful and the staff is friendly. more

Excellent Care all these years 9/3/2010

I simply want to add on to all the compliments this facility is getting. They have cared for my Chinchilla for the last 7 years I have lived in MN. Everyone has been so kind, caring and thorough with us. Sadly I lost Chico today but I cannot begin to explain how kind they all were with us, even down to the billing. If you have any type of little friend, don't even give it a second thought and make it down there. It is worth the commute. more

Great clinic! 4/13/2009

I have been thoroughly impressed with the service at Como Park Animal Hospital. They have treated my rat and my aging cat. It was hard to find a vet to care for my ill ratty, but once I found Como and met with the vet tech and vet, I knew that this would be the clinic I would continue using. They have great hours, routinely call to check on your pet, and totally worth the price. more

Incredible Vets 2/24/2009

I have been with Como Park Animal for over 15yrs and they have never let me down. I have tried a few other vets who were a bit cheaper but was not at all impressed with the service and care my animals got. I will happily pay the little bit extra it costs on somethings to bring my animals to Como Park Animal. Dr. Jenrich is THE BEST vet I have ever known and is the only vet my border collie mix will let come near him and examine him, he is just that good with animals. more

Conveniently located...several misdiagnosis's 1/26/2009

Como Park Animal Hospital is conveniently located near our house and we have been there many times for our 3 dogs. From our rough calculations, Como Park Animal Hospital is approximately 25% to 30% more expensive than some other vets we've been to. On 2 occasions they misdiagnosed our dog's issue. The first misdiagnosis was a Retrobulblur Abscess which ended up costing us an additional $3000 in emergency fees because the vet wasn't able to diagnose the dog's eye issue. Another issue that was misdiagnosed was when my dog was pregnant. Because the vet at Como Park didn't know what was happening it left us very concerned over the weekend and we had to pay to visit another vet all to find out what was happening to our dog is completely normal with pregnant dogs. Finally, we recently took a litter of puppies to Como Park for their first set of shots. Two of the 9 puppies had seizures as a result of the immunizations. I'm not sure how their immunizations are different from any other vet, but more

Remarkably kind 5/19/2008

These people have helped me and my pets in more ways than I can describe. They gave my diabetic cat an extra year of good, quality life by nurturing him day by day. They always had an open appointment or an extra minute to "tweak" my cat's meds. When his time came to pass, they helped him across the bridge. They have been so gentle with me and my children and my pets that it defies description. I have an appointment soon for a cat in kidney trouble. I know that my cat and I will be well loved. You really can't top this team. more

LOVE this vet!! 10/30/2007

I absolutely LOVE this clinic!! I first came to them with my two sugar gliders. Dr. Casey was phenomenal with them and very experienced and knowledgeable about them and their care. I then started bringing my cat here even though it was quite a trek after we moved. We switched vets to a closer one after our 2nd move because of busy schedules/lack of time to travel. We just adopted a puppy and were not impressed at all with her vet. Our cat also had an issue arise with his vet (different from our pup's). So alas, we are going back to Como Park and we'll be there to STAY!! more

Not Great for Rabbits 10/19/2007

We found this hospital to be expensive for what it offered. However, treatment was sufficient and the staff was fairly knowledgeable. We gleaned as much information as was in our consultation just from surfing the net. more

AWESOME VETS!!! 1/25/2007

The vets at the clinic practice the upmost quality care and are so friendly and helpful especially with my exotic pets! I would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner especially exotic pet owners! more

They're Great! 11/27/2005

I just happened to pick this vet for my dog randomly bcause were Iadopted from gave me a free visit, and this place was close to me, but I am really glad I did! One of the best things is that they are open late 5 days of the week so I can take my dog in after work, and they are open on saturdays. Also, they have 4 or 5 vets, and it is easy to get your pet in at short notice (for pressing issues, sometimes its a one or two day wait for normal checkups, or if you like a specific doc) All their help love animals, and they knew my pets name after one visit. They also treat exotic pets, my brothers likes them for his strange pets. Much cheaper than those national chains. PROS: they are clean, cheap(for a vet), have walk on scales, are friendly CONS: more
