This Clinic has changed hands and there is a new lady vet there. Her actions greatly upset me. I took my dog to Community where I have gone for years, after waiting more than an hour I saw this lady vet. My dog had a lump on her leg near the first joint from her paw. I asked if the lump could be checked to see if it was a fatty lump or more serious. She said the only way they could do that was to remove the lump and send it off after the surgery was performed. I asked if something less invasive could be done and she said no. I was uncomfortable having her do surgery and when I got home discovered there was a second lump on the dog, she had not even examined her to see if there were other lumps. it turned out when I took my dog to a second vet, that they could insert a needle and tell if it was cancer. I was also told that the check needed to be done because the margins in the leg near the dew claw were so small that if would be difficult to get all the cancer. It turned out my dog has mast cell cancer. it could have been treated much earlier if I had had what turned out to be a easy quick diagnosis elsewhere. tNow a third lump has come up. I am shocked and upset this vet did not do the simple test that told me that the dog had cancer in the first place. This delayed any treatment over a month when a third lump came up and i decided to get a second opinion. Please be very careful if you see this lady more

An Animal Hospital for Animal Lovers. This is the best place for anyone in the Memphis area to bring their beloved pets too. They know how much we love our pets but do not exploit us because of it. They take the best no nonsense approach to animal care and do not try to pad your bill with anything they do not need. A look at their waiting room tells you how popular they are. They stay extremely busy for a reason. Sometimes it's best to simply go there because they are sometimes overwhelmed with patients and cannot answer the phone because their priorities are elsewhere, helping the animals in their care. I am always pleasantly surprised when I get my bill, they are incredibly fair and helpful. If you are looking for a great, trustworthy, friendly and professional Veternary Hospital, look no further. more

Pros and Cons 5/7/2012

The prices are pretty good, and the staff are nice and really seems to care for our animals. However, scheduling, communication, and dealing with the wait are nightmares. If you can deal with the way the line of customers piles up and the wait, this is a really great place that will take care of your animals and will not gouge you with prices. However, if you are in a rush or expect an appointment time to be specific, this is not the place for you. more

Disappointing customer service 5/7/2012

We have taken our two, small dogs to get groomed here a few times. The price is reasonable; however, the customer service is very disappointing. The last two times they have said that our dogs would be ready no later than 3pm. Both times our dogs have been ready closer to 6pm. We have received no phone call letting us know our dogs would be ready 3 hours later. We bring the dogs in at 7:30am so not sure why it takes over 10 hours to complete their grooming needs. Additionally, when I called at 4pm to ask if the dogs were ready, the lady said they would be ready after 5pm (they had not even started grooming them yet!). I asked why they said the dogs would be ready at 3pm, and she stated, ""Well, there is no guarantee."" I understand that, but good customer service would at least call the customer and let them know. Then, my husband go there at 5:30 to pick up the dogs, he waited over an hour in line to get the dogs. We live less than 10 minutes from this place, and he wasn't home till 6:45 with the dogs. He said people that were in line with him also stated they would never come back to this place. They are completely unprofessional, and I hope anyone deciding to use them for grooming services rethinks their decision. It doesn't always pay to go the cheap route for dog grooming! more

Super Nice & the genuinely LOVE animals! 3/27/2012

This place is Heaven sent. I have tried so many VETS and this VET is BY FAR the BEST I have EVER stepped foot into. They LOVE your animal. THEY REALLY DO! Most VETS just care for the payment... not actually TAKING CARE of your animal. Thats what you bring your pet to a VET for, right? more

Epic Fail !!!!!!! 2/6/2012

They shaved our husky !!!! They drugged her and then shaved her !!! You aren't supposed to shave a husky !!!! I took her in for shots, a bath, and to have her nails clipped.they gave her the shots and gave her a ""lion clip"". Left the hair on her head and tail -- like a lion!!!! She has razor burn marks all over her body. Ridiculous !!!!! more

Thank you, I wish they treated humans. 8/27/2011

I don't give out 5 star reviews. Certainly not for medical providers and certainly not for companies in the Memphis area. I am always disappointed by doctors and vets, I pretty much hate memphis. THAT SAID This place is awesome, they are fast, friendly, laid back, they don't waste your time, they don't do un-needed test. All my friends recommended the place, I went there twice so far and just had to write a review for how awesome they are. I have been to multiple vets and hospitals in the Memphis area, these guys are far and away the best I have been to. They are even open on saterday until 1:30 for doctors visits and later for pickup.. I really love these guys, and to top it off they are cheap, I used to get my shots at petvax, but these guys were cheaper and faster. Trust me if you need a vet during the day time, just jump in your car and go here, no appointment needed. I don't work for them, I don't have any connection to them, I have just been very happy with them and so has all my friends. Tecumseh gives them 2 paws up.. He was so upset when I went there today because he didn't get to go in.. more

No appt required, affordable 10/28/2010

My family has used this vet, in the white bldg, since the late 60's on Summer Ave between Altruria & Stage Rd. I've moved to a neighboring county but I still drive there because other vets offices these days are requiring appts---this is not a child we're talking about here & I do not like that, plus the prices can't be beat. They have a huge amt of staff and are busy-busy with 2 exam rooms. It runs like a finely tuned machine. Call first because the Dr does take a lunch break & be careful parking so close to 45 mph traffic on Summer Av---leash or cage your animals for safety & in respect for other pet owners in the open waiting area. Orig: Dr & Mrs Kelley then, Dr. Not-so-nice (who's gone now), then Dr. Miller who happens to be family, (over the course of several years) and currently Dr. Harper Baddley who's well qualified. more

Dr. Miller Rocks!!! 10/12/2010

We have taken our English bulldogs to Community Pet Hospital for many years (starting back with Dr. Kelley). I was always very happy with the way our beloved pets were treated and the care they received. Dr. Miller was so very caring and understanding of the problems with our pets. I would recommend them to anyone!!! more

Absolutely Dedicated 3/6/2010

My family adopted a year old border collie from West Tennessee Border Collie rescue some years ago. The dog we rescued had come from Memphis Animal Shelter and was in sad shape. She was on the thin side and suffering from some horrible upper respiratory problems. The shelter staff thought she had distemper. My mother took her to Community Animal Shelter and Fefe (as she named by the rescue and then later renamed Montana) was given a check up from Dr. Miller. He worked to save our new, sickly pet. By some miracle, Montana survived and now is a well taken care and cherished member of the family. Without Dr. Miller, we'd never would have had that chance. more

The Best Veterinarian in the City 1/25/2010

I love this vet. and even though they are not ""HIGH TECH"" they can refer you and they give the utmost attention to your pet and seemingly remember you when you come back. They love your pet as though it was their own and treat him/her as such!! I will never go anywhere else! The prices are so very reasonable and they don't try and draw you in to get services that your not wanting!!! Great hometown feel and the staff is wonderful!!! Pros: The lowest cost , great care Cons: small town feel more

Best Service for Animals and Family Members 6/17/2009

Dr. Miller and Dr. Baddley have taken excellent care of my Maltese for 2 1/2 years. I adopted an older little fellow last summer that was very sick. I had him in the office about every 3-6 weeks all year and they were so patient and kind and caring with both Howie and me. When it came time for Howie to go to Heaven the whole staff was unbelievably sweet and kind to me. They let me hold him for as long as I wanted and helped me with all the arrangements. When I brought my other one back the next week for other things they were still extremely attentive to my needs. I don't think I could have afforded to take my dogs anywhere else, especially with the sick one. I could afford his medicine and the office visits here. My whole family takes their dogs to them and they all love them. They also do great grooming. I recommend Community Pet to everyone I know. Pros: Caring, unexpensive, quick more

Best Vets in town 9/22/2008

This is a great vet clinic that makes owning a pet affordable. My family and I have used Community Pet since the late 60's. We started back when it was Dr. Kelley and have stayed with them ever since. You will get an honest look at the care of your animal while not breaking the bank. Your pet is their pet and they have a purpose of taking care of animals not making a killing in charges. The building isn't fancy but don't let the building mislead you, the care is first rate. Pros: They make owning and caring for your pet affordable more

Best vet hands down! 5/22/2008

Love love love this vet! My family has been coming here since at least the 80's. Cheap prices and great people who will love your baby like one of their own. Kathy is awesome she is really sweet. You shouldn't pass this place up. Pros: Great dr's and staff, cheap prices more

Best vets in the Bartlett area! 7/26/2007

I have taken my pets to this hospital for most of my life when Dr. Turner started it and now Drs. Baddley and Miller are the best! The costs are cheaper than anywhere else! The office is old, but I would not go anywhere else. The care is super! more
