We hired Commonwealth Movers on the recommendation of a friend, and were so happy with our choice. The 4 guys showed up exactly on time and immediately got to work. They had all the tools necessary to disassemble our bed and were excellent at maneuvering large pieces down our curved staircase. They were also friendly and very easy to work with. At the new house, they even stopped at the door with each piece so that I could apply felt pads to the bottom of the furniture. They definitely worked as fast as they could (I have read reviews for other companies that seemed to drag out the time to get paid for more hours) and we greatly appreciated that. There was NO mention of tip the whole day (have also read reviews of movers that hinted for a tip throughout the move) and when we tipped them for a job well done, they all individually thanked us and shook our hands. Overall I could not have been happier with Commonwealth Movers! more

I just moved here from Florida and was very nervous about using a moving company. I talked to Adrienne and she assured me that everything would go smooth. I have to admit not only did it go smooth but they handled everything with care. Everthing arrived to my new home, nothing was broken and they even set up my furniture in my brand new home. I would recommend them to anyone who asked about a mover. Thanks Commonwealth Movers!!!!! more

Reading some of the reviews below it's hard to believe we're writing about the same company. I have used Commonwealth Movers 4 times in the past 10 years for my local moves. Each time I have had a wonderful experience. I usually work with Monte or Luther but even when they have not been available I have not had any issues. They always move in a timely manner and are very personable during the process which helps a lot being that moving can be so stressful. I purchased the home I am living in now so I do not plan on moving again but if I did I would gladly choose Commonwealth Movers. more

I have used Commonwealth Movers for more than 8 years to do our deliveries. When customers take the time to call after a delivery to compliment the cleanliness and politeness of the delivery crew, saying it was a positive experience from beginning (the purchase) to the end (the delivery, that says a lot. Because people are quick to call if there is a problem but you have to do an unusually good job for people to take their time to call to give a compliment. I can and have recommended Commonwealth Movers to others. more

I chose this company because they claimed to be bonded and insured. They also claim that they use temps from other companies during busy times, which I'm not able to verify, but I learned the hard way that there was no background check done on the temps. The movers stole checks (and cashed them), jewelry, and coins. It was very obvious that it was not the first time the movers had done this type of thing because they were very experienced. The stolen checks were not in order and were taken from the original box of checks from the bank that was in a box with other office supplies. They had to go through the items to find them. The only time they were unsupervised was when they went for a bite to eat between residences because they were ""starving."" The most disappointing thing to me is that the moving company will NOT even reimburse me for the cost of the move - which is the LEAST they can do! The items stolen will never be recovered and there has been no arrest to date so beware of the possibility that you will get the same moving crew if you choose this company! I wouldn't want anyone to go through the crap that I've been through with this experience! The only reason for the one star rating is that I had to choose one in order to be able to give a review. more

I usually don?t write reviews, I never have the time and I never care that much. This time I will make the exception. If you are looking for the summation quickly: do not use this company. It?s not worth it. The actual movers were very polite, when they first started, I told the main guy that in the past I had a bad moving experience; only moved once before, the furniture was damaged the whole nine, he ASSURED me that if we take care of them they would take care of us. (yes I know I should have asked them to leave as soon as he said that) Pros: uh...they were polite and showed up on time. Cons: Lack the ability to do the right thing more
