in response to bacon t. (pete blanton) , he was evicted for dishonesty. he claimed to have a 37' boat and showed up with boat 54' overall expecting to fit in and pay the same slip fee as smaller boats. glad the snob is gone and to have the space for honest tenants. more

Do not do business here. Times are tough, but their customer service is deplorable. Not only that they decided to evict me for no reason, other than ""we need you gone"" to reuse my fully paid slip for 3 other vessels. The services, factilities and access at this marina are about the worst on Lake Travis. You can get an exponentially better experience at the same price at other marinas. more

Great place to keep a sailboat on Lake Travis 10/28/2010

If you're new to sailing on Lake Travis, you probably want to keep your boat near Mansfield Dam because of the large basin there, and you'll want a marina that caters to sailboats, so you have three choices: Marshall Ford on the east bank or Commander's Point or the Austin Yacht Club on the west bank. If you join the Yacht Club, you're expected to race or volunteer a total of 15 days per year. If that's too much of a time commitment, then look into keeping your boat at one of the other two. We chose Commander's point because 1) They have a trolley on which you can send your gear up and down from the parking area to the slip area and 2) because Paul, the manager, is very laid back. The other boat owners we've met are very friendly. Aside from parking, trolley, showers, bathrooms and slips, there's not much there—no store, no picnic area, It's very bare bones, but it's a great base from which to enjoy Lake Travis. more

Worst attitude in town - don't charter anymore :)! 9/16/2006
