Best

Denver's premiere comedy club, Comedy Works, is THE place to go in the Mile High City for laughs. It consistently books the best comics week in, week out that will keep you rollin...

Worst

The reason you see that nearly all the reviews are either one star or five stars has to be because the staff is trying to counteract the customers, I think. Very very disappointi...

Chelsea Handler last night 9/23/2006

I saw Chelsea Handler there last night and she was great...last month we saw a younger comic on a weekday that we hadn't heard of and he was great. We take friends there from out of town all the time and we always have a great time. The wait staff continues to boggle me. They carry heavy trays in tiny aisles and in the dark most of the time. I think this is one of Denver's little hidden secrets. Although, they're always busy when we're there, so maybe not so secret?....love this place...and loe it now that Comedy Works and every place is non-smoking...thank you! more

so fun 5/8/2006

We went last weekend and saw one of their 'lesser' known comics...we had friends in town and wanted to go downtown. It was great! We usually go at least once a month to see big names because we're huge comedy fans, but this weekend we saw Nick Griffin...man, he was great. The whole show was great. Call them for parking tips. They can tell you the best and cheapest place to park...we'll go back more often now to see a 'lesser' known comedians now. Pros: famous comedians, good value more

this place rocks 1/17/2006

I'm new in town and a huge comedy fan. This place gets everyone who's anyone in comedy. I was lucky enough to see Chappelle there in November and I hear that they've got Dave Attell coming soon. It's probably the best comedy club I've ever seen, and I've seen them all...all over the country. Check them out if you haven't. more

Awesome Club! 11/3/2003

WOW! VERY Impressed by the club. All the other clubs in Denver seemed family oriented for all ages, this was the only club I found with adult themes. The service was very good. Got my drinks when and how I wanted them. They have a slightly better than average bar menu. A LOT of people were there. I thought they managed the crowds really well. Make sure you show up a good hour before the show. The building is pretty clean and well ventilated. We were in a smoking show and smoking never bothered me. Sit in the back, towards the center. I had perfect view of all the comedians, quick access to the waitress and was able to get out of there fast. Cover was $15 per person. Two people, plus food and several drinks ran about $70. Would definitely come here again. Pros: VERY FUNNY, Awesome Comedians, Good Service Cons: Crowded more

Expensive 10/28/2003

This is a small intimate atmosphere. They get some of the best comics out there, both times I have been there it has been hilarious. However, it will cost you a bit to go. Tickets are around $30, and then there is a 2 item minimum. As you can imagine, the menu is fairly expensive, something like $4.50 for a light beer if I remember correctly. I would stick with the drinks, which are pretty good, over any of the food there. Plan on spending about $50 per person for a show there. Pros: Funny comics, Good location Cons: Expensive menu more

No Lauging Matter 7/30/2003

I would like to say that this place totally sucked. We were supposed to have reservations for a Charity, for Cystic Fibrosis, for a group of 75 individuals, some coming as far as from Puebo, Longmont and Boulder, and we were turned away. They told us we had to be there before 7:30. As we were in line no later than 7:20, I find it hard to believe that they were looking for the 75 group reservation. How do you had out 75 tickects for a CHARITY and then forget about it. I, along with the other 74 people I was with, refuse to attend any function at this club again. They even refused an appology, citing that ""we were not in the proper spot"". What the heck is the right spot then, not the front door? Don't go to this place. more

Poor Customer Service at CW 11/22/2002

While the comics there are generally pretty good (although there are a few losers, too), some members of the staff are rude and unfriendly. Don't count on their web page to be accurate- I made reservations for a hilarious local comic, only to get there and find out they had replaced him with a boring dud. When I politely complained the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. I finally got free tickets from the manager, but realized it wasn't worth complaining about since I will never go there again. Pros: generally good comics Cons: over priced drinks, crowded more
