While spending lots of money at the outlet mall yesterday, my boyfriend, son, and friend of ours decided to venture into the Historic District of St. Augustine to have some lunch. We were not sure where to dine, so called a friend who is familiar with the area. He recommended Columbia's on St. George St. We were greeted by a rather confusing hostess (she didn't greet us and then said she was waiting on someone to take us to the table when we said we wanted a table for three). We were seated in the second floor dining room. After grabbing a highchair and buckling my son in, I realized I infact had NOT buckled him in, because the buckle was broken. A closer inspection of the pile of high chairs in the corner revealed that 9 out of 10 were also missing pieces in some way. Thank goodness for that one out of ten we found, a little tight, but workable. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Something Something (Not good at my recall of Spanish words). It came topped with a slice of lime, side of plaintains, yellow rice with green peas, and Mojo sauce. It was heavenly! The fish was cooked to perfection and very citrusy. The plantains were wonderful and the rice had a fabulous flavor. My boyfriend ordered a Cuban sandwich and black bean and rice soup, both of which were excellent. Overall our meal was wonderful enough to forget about the highchair and hostess hassle and have a great meal.
