CO Ski & Golf "Customer Service" 11/23/2009

Last year I was after some boots for my wife. The sales rep for Tecnica was great, but when it came time to pay, the CO ski and golf manager at Aurora was a complete @$$hole when I tried showing him an internet price- Since they "claim" to match prices. He jumped up and down hollering about how you get more customer service with them, and finally gave me the price after that whole guilt trip. However, he then entered in tax, which the internet doesn't charge, so I had to go another round reminding him of his own "complete" price match guarantee". When we had the common courtesy to wait until after the sale for bootfitting, we found out the "free bootfitting" the salesman bantered about was not free anymore either. We had to pay for the bootfitting. So in my experience in the last two years of shopping at CO Ski and Golf, I have not seen this "superior customer service" they all holler about, nor have I felt the price match was worth the guilt trip. Sure I'll go back there now and again to try stuff when I've spotted good deals elsewhere, but I'll be purchasing it at REI Outlet or Backcountry from now on once I know my size and fit. more

CO Ski & Golf "Return Policy" & "Customer Service" 11/23/2009

First off, their HUGE advertisment claiming 100% Performance Guarantee is misleading. If you don't believe me, check your receipt next time, if they bother to put the fine print on it. I bought a pair of skis before SkiRex at a better discount price this year. I was a little hesitant on the purchase (both the model and length) because I had originally gone in there intending to buy a different pair I'd researched a ton. When I got there, they didn't have the ones I was after, so I got the other model and a bit shorter than I was comfortable with, since the salesman swore they'd do me right, and the price seemed right. Still being unsure, the salesman also swore up and down I could "ski them up to 5 times on their 'performance guarantee' and bring them back for cash no problem." Well just last week I went to Loveland and demoed the same pair I'd bought, and didn't like them. So I tried taking the ones I owned, which were still in the original wrappers. That's when I found out about the true small print not included on my receipt- their "return policy" is only 5 days same as cash. Even if you have the receipt and haven't unwrapped the product, you only get in-store credit for anything returned, plus you pay a restocking fee. That's sleezy, especially given the ranting blatent lie from the salesman. You may have "decent" prices once a year, but when your guarantee is no good, I'm not going to wait a year to use in-store credit (There's probably some small print that says you can't even use it after a few months anyway). Sorry guys, I won't be shopping with you anymore. Neither will my family or friends. Which reminds me of a few other noteworthy items. While their prices appear good at their annual sale, they actually mark their summer prices up during the sale, but even those prices don't come close to REI Outlet or Backcountry Outlet prices- and those stores both have UNCONDITIONAL CASH BACK guarantees FOREVER and ANY condition. We were drawn to Colorado Ski & Golf when we were looking for new skis. A couple weeks beforehand, we suffered through the misery of renting skis and decided to go ahead and buy a set of skis. We went in on a Sunday and although it was rather crowded, we were able to find a sales rep who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us find two pairs of skis without being pushy or trying to sell us stuff we didn't need. It was a great experience; not what we felt when we went to REI. more
