After searching in several other stores and searching the colonial stock 3 times we finally decided on 3 slabs of granite and paid 1700 for them to be held for us. At our request they installed the countertops a month later. However, when they went to install the full back splash and a large peice that we were running up to the ceiling for behind our stove - they said that they brought the wrong granite. Then it turns out they lost/misplaced the other slabs. Obviously we refused their poor attempt to color match new slabs with the counters - then they tried to make us pay for the backsplash ($2500) even though they lost it. They even had an attorney threaten us. Also, prior to the granite installation we had them install slate floors in our kitchen, they did a quick job but this summer when we cleared out some overgrown bushes we found that their contractors had thrown all the cuttings from the job into our bushes. Lastly I have to mention that when the template was done for the counters the templater assured me that there would not be a seam over our dishwasher and even wrote that on the actual template. Of course when the counters came there was a seam over the dishwasher and I had to stop the installers from screwing a 2 by 4 to the wall to support the counter. Had they put it there my dishwasher would have stuck out from under the counter by 2 inches. Luckily I had a furring strip in the basement (half inch thick) that they had to use - but my dishwasher is still not where it ideally should be AND had I not stopped them before the glue went down, we'd have a real problem. Also, after all that, the way the managers tried to demean us into paying for the backsplash was just outrageous. Yanni, apparently a manager there, told us HE was disappointed in us - really? We had to have our lawyer explain to them why they shouldn't be paid for work they didn't do and why they should be compensating us for their negligence.
