This small town museum has been compared favorably to some of the largest and most prestigious in the country.It is an accredited institution, one of only five in the state of Utah.
Although this museum does not have a T-Rex, it has a wonderful allosaurus, the Utah state vertebrate fossil, equally as impressive as the T-Rex meat eater!
Spacious halls display many discoveries from this rich paleontological and archaeological region and the displays of geology from the area adds even a bit more to the experience.
The home of the Utahraptor, he is a must see for this museum. Also home to the Pilling Figurines, profiled multiple times in National Geographic and hailed as some of the most pristine, complete and ornate examples of clay figurines in existence, and home to the Huntington Mammoth, one of the finest and most complete specimens of a Columbian Mammoth discovered.
One could spend the day at the museum seeing the exhibits and reading the wonderful text. A cell phone tour enhances the experience for those who want even more information.
Observation Labs enable the visitor to experience the behind the scenes prep that takes place and also enables the visitor to speak one on one with the preparators.
