Previously, I've had a go at the carpet cleaning with the rented unit from a hardware. That was OK at the time, but I'm getting older and stiffer, it was time to hire someone to do a "real" job. Their work was fine enough, and the carpets looked much better than before the cleaning, for sure. They honored the "coupon" discount pricing, but even so it was significantly more costly than doing it with the hardware machine. Summary: they were fine, and handled all the moving and re-positioning of furniture, but I don't think there is any huge difference between the Coit system of cleaning and some of the less-hyped local folks who have similar "steam" cleaners mounted in vans, at less total cost. But Coit also has access to lots of available crews, so they can probably meet your preferred cleaning schedule with ease. It was "the high-priced spread", but in our case, it was worth the higher cost. We do live in a very large city [L.A.] and sometimes unknown independent vendors can be a bit flaky...
