I have known Gary for many years and he also handled my divorce. He is without a doubt the most caring, sensitive, and thorough attorney I've ever met!!! He did a wonderful job for me and my kids, and I'm happy to still call him a dear friend to this day. more

Gary really cares, and takes care of his clients before,during and after the divorce. He is not only a great attorney, but he is also a beautiful human being; hard to come by in this field. I remember choosing him for his compassion and reputation. It was a heart wrenching life experience and I needed someone I could trust that would consider my family, circumstances, feelings and take care of me, and that other attorneys and judges respect. That was Gary! I am several years past my divorce and he still cares about me and my children, still helps me with issues that arise, and still keeps in touch. I was legally divorced years ago by another lawyer who did not help me get a settlement that would work for my children and myself. I was introduced to Gary and he took the time to review all the details of my case in a brief time and took on my case post settlement. He was so kind and generous with his time and really took control and worked on just the details that needed to be focused on and not waste time or money!!!!! He not only was great in court, but had so much care for the needs for my family. I wish I went to him from the start. The right guy at the right time! I usually don't take the time to post stuff like this but upon reflecting on my experience with Gary Tabat and his firm I felt it necessary. After being served divorce papers I was beyond concerned and lost and was not sure where to start and who to turn to. Gary was referred to me by an attorney friend of mine, which in itself is a strong statement. Divorce is not a pretty thing and having an attorney represent you that understands that and cares was very important to me? Gary's knowledge of divorce law was only surpassed by his genuine and sincere people skills. I was warned by many about lawyers who drags things on and pad their bills. Gary's approach was about doing what's right for the kids, me and overall the least expensive conclusion. In my opinion his focus was always on finding a fair and equitable conclusion while protecting my interests and not forgetting my 3 kids. In what I consider the worst time of my life, Gary helped me tremendously. He is smart, kind, and fair in his bills. Like the other reviewer, he always returned my phone calls. My divorce was very prolonged, but it was mostly because Gary was not my first lawyer. I should of used him from the beginning. I was very happy with Gary and have recommended many people to him. I have never heard a single complaint. more

Gary handled my divorce. He was excellent, he got me a great settlement and he was far more intelligent than my wife's attorney. \r \r He returned my calls the same day, every time. The other reviews must be bogus. more

My (not very complicated) case has dragged on for years and the arrangement I got wasn't much better than what I had before we started. I did not feel I had a strong advocate sitting next to me when it came down to negotiations, despite that I know he's experienced. Very disappointing and the whole thing has cost me upwards of $100,000 and is still not over! more

It was a disaster from the start. It took me over 3.5 years to be final and cost me the equivalent of a college education. The deal that was in place at mediation was the best deal I would have ever seen. He is not sharp, focused or available. He is semi-retired and will do you a disservice. There are so many other lawyers out there, do yourself a tremendous favor and go and find another one. Cons: very expensive, NOT on top of his game more

Gary Tabat's goal is to increase his income but not to get you divorced. It will drag on. He also over bills. I was assigned to one of his staff attorneys at the beginning. She constantly needed his help and even his presence in court. At first they wouldn't charge me for 2 attorneys but later they started double billing. He even wrote to me saying he wanted to charge me for the law secretary's time. In retrospect I see that I would have been a lot better off settling at the beginning, because after 100,000 of fees I was told I couldn't afford a trial and I would be a fool not to settle. So what was the point of all the discovery etc. if it wasn't going to be used at trial? I was billed for every second of every phone call and even to have a letter forwarded to me. If I had gotten a fair settlement it would have been worth it. But after 4 1/2 years of legal bills the only winner was Gary Tabat. My ex had a MUCH better attorney. Cons: Poor representation more
