*I'm only reviewing the drinks as we've never eaten actual food here Pros: Best bubble drinks in town Cons: Cash only more

One place that I HAVE TO stop every time I visit Austin 2/17/2009

I started going to CoCo's when it first opened around 2000. I haven't tried a whole lot of different things there but I LOVE the almond milk tea with boba (tapioca pearls) and the onion pie. Sadly I try every boba place I come across in Austin ( my parents home) and Dallas ( my home) and I have never found any pearls that come close to the sweetness and texture of these. The drinks are FANTASTIC! more

best Taiwanese restaurant so far 11/7/2008

I was there when Coco's Cafe first opened, and they haven't changed much through these at least 5 years. Their ""Taiwanese"" food is far from the original in Taiwan, but it's the closest you can get anywhere in Austin. The best thing about this place is their Taiwanese desserts that are up to par with the original. The food is just okay, but the bubble teas are the best. They come in a variety of flavors (papaya, watermelon, etc), lots of teas and smoothies. They also have shaved ice It's about $3 a drink including tapioca (some drinks with fruit cost a couple dollars more). Overall not too expensive, and a pretty good place to eat. Pros: great drinks, low prices, nice decor Cons: cash for transactions under $15-ish, food not as great as authentic Taiwanese more

I WILL DRIVE DOWNTOWN ONLY FOR THEM SMOOTHIES 5/8/2008

Their smoothies, shakes and frappes are awesome, i will drive from n austin any day just for them. Great prices, good service, there is always parking and the taiwanese community is always spotted there, same for koreans and chinese which means ITS GOOD! Its just like the ones in Taiwain. The place is clean, fresh colorful .. did i mention CLEAN? Great location too. Pros: COCONUT SMOOTHIE IS AWESOME Cons: DONT TAKE CREDIT CARDS ONLY CASH more

Great! 1/13/2008

I spent my summers in Taiwan growing up and I like this place. It's cheap, the food is good, and I like the boba. Most of the snacks is stuff I grew up eating. I would definitely recommend a visit. Pros: Food, Service, Price Cons: Cash Only more

pearls especially good, nice atmosphere, affordable 9/26/2006

cocos has great affordable drinks, my favorite is the coconut smoothie with pearls. Pearls have a sweet, almost butterscotchy flavor, not like some bland pearls i've had at other boba tea restaurants. interior has a nice ambiance, its a very inviting place, great for just hanging out. The staff is very friendly service is fast, and they're open fairly late. Pros: tasty and affordable pearls and drinks Cons: they played "barbie girl" when i was in last more

Taiwanese food is a real treat! 7/5/2006

Taro Milk is a purple, sweet concoction, as well as creamy, sinful Peanut Butter Milk. The Green Onion Pie is a doughy, greasy, delicious appetizer that can be shared with another person. Peppercorn Chicken combines fried, sweet chicken with pickled vegetables and spicy jalapenos. Don't miss on Bacon Pork; it doubles the fat and calories, but who cares, it makes you happy. The Eel Steak w/Rice is a tasty dish; a massive slice of sweet, broiled freshwater eel tops a bowl of rice and unique Taiwanese vegetables. Pros: Unique cuisine! more

Bad service 1/3/2006

I used to be a regular customer of this cafe but I have faced some experienced that have prevented me to dine- in at the cafe. I visited the cafe at UT area at 9.30 pm earlier on and the service was really bad, the cashier was rude and disrespectful. I wonder if they ever trained her. Pros: Wide variety of drink Cons: Parking space, Bad service more

A great little cafe! 8/19/2005

I love tapioca, and so where to go but coco's? Their drinks are very good, and their food isn't bad. However, I must say that I think their food has gone a little down hill since the two years I've been here in UT. No matter, I will always go back for their tapioca drinks and shaved ice! :-D more

Fantastic Food and Bubble Teas 7/14/2003

The food is really authentic! I love the bubble teas, I can't get enough of this place. My favorites are the pearl milk tea, the beef noodle soup and green onion cakes. more

Clean on Riverside/Oltorf 7/15/2002

you know that if you want to eat somewhere, you have to go either to the north side, or somewhere near campus. and that's not always fun. i was sooo happy this place opened up. there's also one on the drag, and another in the north. NICE decor. NICE atmosphere. good for students or anyone who wants a normal place to eat that's not dirty, like other places to eat in this area. try the milk tea with pearl! the dishes are reasonably priced. with large portions it's clean (tables-floor-bathroom)! you can't find that out on riverside. on the weekends, this place is turned into a karoke bar, but it's mostly a good place to hang out. think starbucks, with an asian flare. Pros: inexpensive, CLEAN!!, cute decor Cons: small menu more
