Hands down best food in area 6/30/2011

We love coming here, this is our special place and we have celebrated many birthdays and special events. The food is amazing and complimented by a truly wonderful wine list (minus the extortionate mark-ups most restaurants put on fine wine). Service is always fantastic, we are always made to feel special and treated like old friends as soon as we walk in the door. Our daughter loves the calamari and we love the prime quality steaks and the daily chefs specials are always superb! We would recommend trying out the sunset menu, served until 6:30pm for a taste of what Aura has to offer. Chef Perrier we are so glad you opened in Missouri City, a gem on our doorstep!!!! more

Great Food 12/8/2010

Really, the food is great. more

A really nice experience 4/21/2010

My girlfriends and I recently made a short visit to Sugarland, and found this place in a small shopping center while siteseeing. We were very pleased with our choice - the food was very good - and we were given excellent suggestions for both the entrees and the wines. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the small French restaurant - sophisticated but comfortable. The Chef took the time to come talk to us - he was very personable and he was French (imagine that - in a French restaurant!!) Pros: Great Staff, simple elegance in dining, and very good food Cons: Didn't make reservations, so had to wait about 15 min. more

Best Restaurant in Fort Bend County!! 8/13/2009

My husband and I eat here every Wed. night! Everything on the menu is exceptional! I love the daily specials, you never know what Chef Perrier is creating! We are so lucky to have a restaurant of this caliber in Missouri City!! Pros: Great food! Great Service Cons: Not open on Mondays (except for Wine Dinners) more

Secluded in Missouri City--the best small restaurant 12/21/2008

After wandering into this rare gem on a rainy evening, I have been a regular. The food is beautifully cooked and the wine list reasonable and well-selected. Each evening sports specially selected appetizers and entrees in addition to the regular menu. I try something different every time, but, I have to admit, my favorite salad is the Lyonnaise, with that perfect poached egg. The owners are warm and welcoming and the waiters friendly and accomodating. If you're looking for a restaurant that has perfectly cooked French fare and provides an intimate setting for quiet conversation, this little jewel is it. Pros: Quiet; intimate; simple, but beautifully crafted, haute cuisine; friendly; boutique wine list Cons: Don't expect to wait at the bar! more

Best Cappuccino in town 10/13/2008

This restaurant was everything we were told it was. They had a great menu with a number of specials. We had the lobster bisque which was good, but not great (next time we will try the onion soup) The AURA salad we had was fabulous (nuts, cheese, great dressing). We also had a sea bass fish dish and it was FANTASTIC, very flavorful sauce and the staple of Coq Au Vin. The waiter suggested one of the specials in leiu of the CoqAuVin, but we didn't budge. We later wished we did, because as the CoqAuVin was good, it was not as fantastic as the fish. more

Great place for dinner w/ friends and family 7/28/2008

I had dinner at Aura on a Saturday evening with a fairly large group of friends (9 of us). The service was excellent even with a large group from the moment we were greeted by the hostess all the way through desert. Because we had such a large group, we odered a variety of appetizers- all of which were very good. In particular the Surf and Turf (beef short ribs and scallops) was OUTSTANDING. I also had the Aura salad which was very fresh and the mix of fruit (apple), nuts, and leafy greens was spot on. As for the entrees, I would have been happy with any of the 6 different entrees we ordered (one benefit of a large party... you can sample more of the menu). The presentation was very nice- nothing over the top but very nice. Most importantly, the food was delicious, prepared just right, and the portions are sized properly. Everything was cooked perfectly. The waiter also made some excellent wine recommendations that perfectly complimented the meal. We also share a few deserts but I didn't indulge... but it was very tempting! All in all, it's one of the best restaurants in the MoCity - Sugarland area and one of the few that offers the perfect mix of good food, local flavor (not a chain like everytihng else out here...), and a nice atmosphere. Perfect for just about any occasion. Pros: Great food, excellent service Cons: Some might find the entree selections a little limited if none of the specials are to your liking more

Good french bistro food and great value on the wines 5/27/2008

My husband and I tried this restaurant from reading a 3 stars (excellent) review from the Houston Chronicle. We really love french food and has been searching all over Houston. We loved the pate, escargots and foie gras. The wine prices are very reasonable. They also have wine tasting and wine tasting dinners. Pros: Good food and great wine values more

Unreal smoked salmon and short ribs, great affordable wine list 4/4/2008

WOW! This place is a real jem. Frederic Perrier is one of the top chefs in Texas, you will love this spot. Go!! Pros: Simply incredible seafood and amazing mini buffalo burgers, great service Cons: Didn't really see any more

Great Experience - Early Friday Night Before the Crowd 4/1/2008

My husband and I visited Aura early (6:30) on a Friday evening. The crowd had yet to arrive - there were only two or three other tables seated when we arrived. The service was great as was the food. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. They also have a nice wine list for such a small restuarant. We did make reservations which I would recommend. more

Great the first time, Terrible the second 2/21/2008

My husband and I love to try new restaurants and were very excited when Aura was featured in the Houston Chronicle. The first time we tried it we loved it and told all our friends about it. The food was out of this world good and compensated for the long wait. The second time we were very disappointed. Once again, we waited over an hour even though we had reservations. Everything we ordered was overcooked and dry. We wish them luck and hope they improve on the consistency of the food. We will not be returning. Pros: Hostess was very nice Cons: Food was overcooked and dry more

Excellent service, food was served hot. Very small, nice decor 2/15/2008

Kudos to the Chef! 1/8/2008

Perfect Girls Night Out spot! The food was excellent, service was excellent. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but the recommendation rocked! Can't wait to dine with the hubby. Pros: Ambience; Parking; Romantic more

Bistro with flair 1/7/2008

When Frederic does a restaurant, he does it right! Cozy, friendly and the food is great. The menu changes often, to there's always something new to experince. Healthy entrees. Great wine list. Atomsphere is super. Always fun. Enjoy. Viva la Frenchy! more

great addition to Missouri City 1/3/2008

I am familiar with the Perrier's because I had been to both Cafe Perrier and Perrier Seafood. This restaurant is true to the Perrier tradition. The food was wonderful and the service was perfect. The owner himself came over and checked to make sure our food was to our liking. He actually sent over a sample after our meal to do an additional taste test. The specials were wonderful. I had the stuffed pork loin and my fiance had the duck. The prices are reasonable. Welcome back to the food arena Mr. and Ms. Perrier...You were missed! Pros: Ambience, food quality, attention to detail, service Cons: Unusual wine list, not familiar with wines but waiter made excellent recommendation more
