Coast Overhead Door

Trying to work something out on a 3.5 year old door that had a defect on day one. The installer ""fixed"" it by installing a screw which worked loose and bent both the panel with the screw and the corner of the adjacent panel. Now I have a loud snapping noise each time the panels bind on opening or closing.\r \r Since no warranty claim was filed at that time of installation, it is unclear what Clopay will do. Installer denies ever putting a screw in my door, so Coast feels they shouldn't pay for replacement panel(s). Coast Overhead has offered to install any replacement panels that Clopay may provide if they are willing to admit the original product was flawed.\r \r I'll edit this comment when the dust settles. more

Pat is the owner of Coast Overhead doors and he showed up for my service call! I had a spring break on my door, He fixed the spring and did a service explaining everything that was done. Nice guy, very knowledgeable. more

I'd give them lower than a 1 star if I could. The rails of the 2-door roll-up garage were not stablized on the side to the frame of the door - causing enough movement for the rollers to slip out of the track. This is the second time the rollers have come off the track. This is in a rental -- the 1st time it happened the tenant was able to fix it. There is now a new tenant. We called and explained the situation asking them to correct the problem. The answer: ""we're not responsible, that's your problem - good luck"" and he hung up the phone! We had 4 doors installed - guess they felt we were no longer a viable customer. more

I've read both customer reviews and very much agree with the shorter one. The service was both excellent and quick and the installed product was exactly what we wished and their representatives (including pre-sale, installation, and post-sale) answered all of our questions quickly and with no evasion.\r \r The installed product was top notch in all aspects so I can say that our experience was wholly and entirely different from that of the dissatisfied customer (or competitor?) in all respects.\r \r I would unhesitatingly advise anyone to do business with Coast Overhead Door and Electric, Inc. All of those working for them were helpful in the extreme actually going beyond what was required to help us and I believe we received good balue for the money paid.\r \r TOP NOTCH!! ... and thanks to Pat, Anthony, and Victor!! more

We used Coast Overhead Doors when our garage door broke. They were very professional & did a great job installing the new door. I would definitely recommend them!! more

My order with Coast Overhead Door (in Huntington Beach, CA) was INCOMPLETE during INSTALLATION DAY (no pre-warning) and no follow-up was ever attempted to rectify the incompletion.\r \r BEWARE, this ""mom & pop"" type of operation. When I first made them aware of the mistake in the order, the ""pop"" (Pat) questioned my integrity - he implied that it was MY fault (yes me, the customer) who SUPPOSEDLY ""misunderstood"" the order -> I had to pull out the original invoice (Thank God I kept everything in writing) to PROVE that it was THEIR mistake! Pat told me that the missing parts would take another 2-3 weeks to come in! (after already waiting 2-3 weeks to get my job installed). After 3-weeks, they NEVER called me back, even when I initially sent them back hardcopy reminder (with their installer) - AND AN EMAIL -> yet they had already charged my credit card for the portion they did do. (I did think the installer they sent out was very good though) <--- if it weren't for him, I'd be even MORE upset. \r \r So the job had to be completed by a DIFFERENT company since I didn't feel it should MY JOB to follow-up with the UN-progress. I wouldn't be so upset if it were indeed ""MY"" mistake, but Coast Overhead Door, (referred to me online by Clopaydoor dotcom) - needs a lot of work on their customer service skills - as well as customer satisfaction ethics.\r \r At first Anthony (their Sales Rep, son) seemed very attentive and seemed to have taken the intial order very well. But then there were a series of phone-tag and non-returned calls from PAT due to Pat's ""medical schedule"". Yes, I paid for the job -- just for what they DID complete, but I wouldn't ever recommend them as a company with good service. I was always told that ""you get what you pay for"" so I thought that their charging me median or above the standard rate, that I would get quality customer care. NOT! Go with a well-rated company first, like Mesa Garage Doors - you'll be much happier. Or simply avoid working with PAT. Pros: They're just a DEALER not the manufacturer of the quality Clopay product Cons: Speaking with an arrogant salesperson/customer service rep like PAT. more
