The owner of CMA, Loni is a gutless coward, I moved out of my house 3 weeks ago and still have not received my security deposit back. They are trying to keep it because of 2 dark spots in the carpet in a high traffic area. According to the law I can not be charged for normal wear and tear which is exactly what that is. I am taking them to court and will sue for double damages the max allowed by state law.\r \r STAY AWAY FROM CMA, THEY WILL RIP YOUOFF ANY OPPERTUNITY THEY GET. more

Awful, disrespectful, sketchy company 2/1/2012

When it comes to CMA Realty, I say: STAY AWAY! Their staff is completely rude, treating you like you're an idiot at all times. I'm an extremely polite guy, so it was a bit of a shock. But I figured hey: I have a decent apartment, for cheap, so I can't really complain. Wrong. My house was infested with mice/rats, and they took weeks to respond to my requests for pest control. Then I was charged for it, which I had reversed... because it's not my fault their shoddy apartments are infested. All my little maintenance problems took forever to be addressed, and every time, I was billed for the repair. They'll often come by your apartment, a week early, and ask for rent. They'll come by and just plan harass you for silly things, like the trash can being by the door, and not behind the building. I was more than excited to move out. I cleaned the house to spotlessness, and moved to Flagstaff. A month later, I get a notice saying my entire $750 security deposit was used for 'repairs', and that I still owe them $90.00 for 4 days rent, when I didn't even live there. I'm currently disputing this with the company. They're an awful, slimy, corrupt place to do business with. Please be wise, and learn from my mistake: Don't do business with CMA. more

Not worth the risk 10/17/2010

With nearly 10 years in the realty and property management business, I can say in near absolute terms that this individual and company (C Marshall and Associates) are involved in a lot of activities we would all frown upon. I would advise prospective clients and tenants to take note. more

really bad : / 10/2/2010

I have two different friends who have went through this company and both have complained about sketchy and sleazy the process was. CMA charged both of them for made up damages and cleaning fees that pretty much negated even having a security deposit in the first place. Their places (houses) had a lot of problems and they were always trying to pin it on the them before fixing it, like they were responsible for how old and crappy the a/c unit was. I think this place stinks, and Prescott and P.V. deserve better! Thx! more

Dishonest company 9/30/2010

CMA Realty is a very unfortunate scab in the field of property management in Yavapai County. Their properties are generally homes or apartments at the bottom of the barrel, unable to be sold likely from real conditional or aesthetic problems. My previous experience with CMA included renting a home with a severe mouse infestation and a septic tank with a pump never connected to an energy source (makes for a disgusting problem). They're not responsive to their tenants, and must always ""contact the owner"" before anything can be done or fixed, delaying actually fixing the issue and throwing out the window the whole relationship about taking a renter at their word (believe it or not, we did not, in fact, have anything to do with the broken furnace). Also, their office seems really disorganized and like no one knows what's happening -- not a very good sign coming from a company that has your Social Security numbers floating around -- it can also take them about 3-4 weeks to cash a rent check, which is incredibly annoying. This place is bad news, and even if the home/apt looks like a good deal, you'll eventually pay for it in the end. Stay away -- thankfully I got out when I could! more

  • When my wife Eva and I formed CMA in November of 1994, I had worked for several local real estate firms and felt that none offered that "One Stop Shopping" bundle of services that many clients expected. I felt that a new mission statement was in order that included the conventional listing and sale of real estate (representing sellers and buyers), asset, or property management, and homeowners association management. I also stress continuing education and certifications in the specialty each Realtor elects to pursue.

    Residential listing & sales
Probably 90% of all real estate licensees are pursuing residential real estate listing & sales. If a Realtor has designations such as GRI, ABR or CRS after their name, there is a very good probability that they are better prepared to do the job of listing and selling or helping you make an intelligent purchase than one not so prepared. The other vital ingredients in selecting a Realtor are "communication" and "follow-up". during the interview process, make sure that each Realtor being screened communicates with you and follows up on your requests promptly.

    Commercial investments and vacant land
A Major area of real estate in our fast growing area is commercial/industrial and vacant land. This area of real estate requires a totally different expertise than residential real estate. Investors and builders require financial analysis for this type of property. A more sophisticated business/financial background is required to assist our clients in the field of real estate. Our staff must acquire special certifications and education in order to work in this market. CMA has qualified personnel with the Certified Commercial Specialists designation earned from the Commercial Real Estate Institute, Inc. Ask for a Commercial Specialist

    Property management
Before deciding to provide property management in 1995, we researched the local market carefully, interviewing other Realtors, property owners who were using property management services, those seeking a property manager and owners who had terminated property manager(s) and were attempting it themselves. We asked Realtors and owners what they liked and disliked about local property management services. we then set about writing our Policy Manual. By forming a firm relationship with the local real estate community and avoiding the management policy mistakes of other property managers, we have grown to be one of the largest, if not the largest, property management company in the Tri-City area. More importantly, we feel we provide the best management services in the area. Please ask us to provide you with references. Ask for the Property Manager

    Homeowners association management
CMA decided to offer HOA management services in 1998 after doing the same type of market research done with Property Management above. The result has been that while we are by no means the largest, or the longest in business, we have managed to maintain a 90% retention rate. We provide through, courteous HOA services. Ask for HOA Project Manager.
