These guys have great food, great service and a very nice atmosphere. I recommend this place if you want to have fun time with your friends.

Clu Sound Bound 12/19/2008

Although it could be a bit more spacious and redone (the cement floors are cracking due to wear and tear), its a pretty good joint. Friday nights are Gay/Lesbian night (also known as Gossip). Me and most of my friends are straight and we honestly have a better time on Fridays!!! Nova Starr is hilarious and the drag shows are fun to watch. They put a lot of effort into their dance routines. As far as music, I've only been Friday and Saturdays so, Fridays are a lot of top 40's Pop/Rock and some dance mixes, Saturdays are mainly techno, house, electronica, hardcore techno, trance ect. They have some pretty good Dj's that keep the vibe going. The 21+ areas (bar, upstairs and upstairs outdoor patio that overlooks SLC) have always been nice places to chill out and relax after dancing and the drinks are great!!! There is a small bar in the back of the club for the under-age clubbers to grab water, sodas and glowsticks!!! The double dance floors are great and the back is the main place for people to do their glowstick and light shows, as well as some areas to sit on couches. The main downside I've noticed is the little teeny-bopper girls thinking its cute to feign s*x, blowjobs and other tacky inappropriate acts on the guys against the walls and dance floors but I guess no matter where you go your always going to have to put up with the "Club Wh*res", some people have an extreme need to get attention no matter what way it is so what can you do. The outside/street parking can be a b**ch so GO EARLY. Other than that, its a great place to hang out and chill with your friends after a very long week. The bouncers have always been nice, the bartenders are courteous, cover charge is $7. I've always gone home from Club Sound feeling 100% destressed. Pros: Good, friendly vibe, drinks are great, good place to just chill and people watch if you want, good music and Dj's, friendly staff Cons: immaturity from dancers, parking more

Something you may want to know about Friday Nights 12/28/2007

I have never actually written a review before, but when i went to this club, i felt that i should. Im not sure how often this site updates their information, but there was a lot of detail i wasn't informed about. On the side it says "Electronica, Techno, and Alternative rock." I would say 9/10 of the songs were R&B or Hip Hop. The biggest thing you need to know, based on first hand experience, if you want to come to this club to meet girls, dont come on a Friday night. Friday night is gay night. Why this site says ladies get in free on Fridays, i have no idea. My lady friend had to pay full admission to get in, and once we were inside it wasn't the scene or crowd i had expected at all.I still had a fun time, the crowd was still active, people seemed pretty nice, and the lights were pretty awesome, Just keep in mind that Friday isn't the night to go meet women. There were quite a few girls there still, but I'm sure there would have been lots more on any other night. Pros: Good Atmosphere, fun to go if you arent looking to pick up women Cons: Gay Night, Not very populated, bad selection of music more

???? question!!! 11/24/2007

hey i am new in town and i was just wondering, what is the age at this place? is it 18+, 21+, or is it like a teen place at some parts? more

I love sound 8/4/2007

Club sound is one of the best venues SLC has for electronic music at the moment. The multi-level dance floor is a definite plus. It is true that there are alot of "ravers" that attend these events, they are plenty of those who are not and go for the love of the music, and for the great dj's that are brought out. Security is lame but they arnt too bad. They let you bring in your own lights and bandanas compared to saltair where they are modern day nazi's. Very pretty girls. It is sad to see how desperate some of the young boys are to get a feel for these girls. Other than that, sound is a great venue!!!! Pros: multi-level dance floors, great dj's, free parking, allowed to bring in own lights and bandanas Cons: security, really bad part of town, prosi-tots, thugs more

drinkers should avoid this place 3/20/2007

They rarely anticipate the over 21 crowd, so plan on spending about 30 minutes to get a drink. I really like it when shows are in Club Sound (its smaller venue), because you have better odds. It's a great place to see shows, with the balcony and all, but when 150 people are in the drink line and in near riot mood (they usually only have 3 bartenders) it really kills it for me Pros: if you can get a seat it's great Cons: buy a 12'er and down it before the show more

Many Fond Memories 11/16/2003

I am a great fan of Dj Shawn Phillips. He is truely an anchor of the dance music scene. I miss Bricks and all of the incredible people I got to meet. I am grateful for the 8 1/2 years that I got to play there. I am glad Shawn and the Club are doing extremely well after my parting. Bricks has a place right at the top of Dance Music History in Utah. Jenny, Keep on Dancin'! Bam Bam more

Hot Spot 4/27/2003

This is an awesome spot in the summer when they open up the doors so you can groove inside or out. The patrons are generally very friendly and they bring some good music out! more

Where's the love... 1/14/2003

I miss the vibe I used to get from this place. I used to be a regular and going to Brick's on the weekend was automatic. But things have since changed. What happened to the crowd and all the people who just wanted to hear great house music and flow with the vibes. By the way what happened to BAM BAM? It's just not that same without you brother. Ronnie you are missed too. Those were the days!!!!! Pros: Inexpensive, Parking, Great House Music Cons: Not crowded more

Bricks-a home away from home 11/30/2002

Incredible club--one of the oldest, friedliest and best clubs in SLC. Tom and the staff are some of the best people in UT; they'll make sure you have fun, regardless of who or what you are. A definite stop for any tourist looking for good music and great service. more

Go somewhere else! 10/10/2002

Bricks used to be a great club to go to and dance and meet people. Now I feel that the only people who go there are ravers. It shows that Utahns are way too wrapped up in trends. The music is horrid, the only plus is that on OCCASION you can actually find some ok dancing. If you want a cool club, head over to Area 51. Pros: enough parking Cons: trendy, ravers everywhere more

The Happy Place 8/6/2002

Every time I go to Bricks I feel like a part of a big happy family, even though I'm among strangers. The place just exudes love and joy and acceptance. more

Please Update! 8/1/2002

A good place to go for meeting girls & dancing. I think that they might want to clean-up a bit and maybe remodel. I have been going to bricks for a long time, but there are so many nicer/newer places places to go now! I have noticed the many changes in staff and DJ's, whats going on? Pros: extremely casual, anything goes!, girls Cons: old, tries to be trendy, not clean more

18 and up? 7/30/2002

Bricks is a great dance club most of the time. The music rocks (until it doesn't) and the scene is great. The only draw back is all the 18 year-old boys trying to molest girls. Pros: very hot chicks, crowded, live shows Cons: 18 and up areas, terrible parking more

Origanl Super Groove. 7/28/2002

Salt Lake's compromise to a STUDIO 54. The Sky Lounge is really nice to the Shwanky Plush Basement, and the Largest Main Dance Floor/Arena/Venue, that Offers Live Electronica, DJ's, and Bands, that Your Momma couldn't resist. Pros: Mixed Crowed, Entertainment, Park where ever. Cons: No PR Manager, No more Gay Nights, Where's Bam Bam? more

Dark young club 7/7/2002

the dance floor is too dark to see anything, the crowd is very very young and more of a rave type crowd. the place is rarely crowded, and stay away from friday night, its not no ladies night, and the music, i swear it's the same cd every friday night of lame hip-hop music, this club has potential, and the outdoor part is very nice, but it be awsome if they would make the outdoor part more of a dance club. one last thing is that the club needs some revamping, very trashy looking building! Pros: Size, Service Cons: Dark, Crowd, Trashy building more

Good club 5/21/2002

Bricks is still a good club all around--always packed with plenty of people and good DJs. Not so much a gay bar as it used to be, but still very gay-friendly. Pros: DJs Cons: crowded more

Editorial
  • The Scene
The outdoor patio and the roof are the most mellow spots in an already laid-back club. They're the perfect areas to take a breather, socialize with friends and observe the vibe of the club below. The dance floor extends outside the club, allowing for relaxed conversation. The main floor is for those 18 and up; 21 and over for the roof and much of the patio. The private club requires membership, and cover charges vary from night to night, so call ahead if you're money-minded.

    The Draw
Patrons looking to groove choose Bricks for the alcohol. And it flows freely. With three alcoholic bars and one non-alcoholic bar, you don't need to walk far to fill up.
