We were highly pleased and grateful for the outstanding support Clovis Pet Hospital provided in the final care of our two dogs, who went through terminal illnesses this year. The vets readily provided extensive information but supported our decisions, and were deeply caring and compassionate in our grief. Fees were very reasonable. These are good people and a good place. more

I USED to really like this place, back when they were at their old location, where we had seen Dr. Madsen. They didn't seem as money focused and didn't lay on the thick guilt trips. We've since had a few appointments at their shiny new location that weren't that great and after yesterday's appointment with Dr. Hathaidharm I'm not planning on going back ever again. We simply took our 8 year old dog to get his shots updated. To get the $45 worth of shots you must also pay for a $50 office exam, so we were already in it for $100 from the get go. The vet proceeded to lay on a very thick guilt trip about all the things that are ""wrong"" with our happy and healthy for his age DOG. That's when the upsell galore occurred - we should get his ears swabbed, prescription ear medicine, have the ""fatty area"" on his abdomen biopsied to make sure it is only fat (not cancer), have him sedated and have his teeth cleaned, feed him the food they recommend (and sell) because he is overweight, etc, etc, etc. Mind you this all happened after we had already waited for 45 minutes for our scheduled appointment with two kids in tow.\r \r I really wish I could just find a vet in town that is willing to accept that for a lot of people, while we do love our animals, they are also just animals and unless they are in extreme pain I'm okay with some amount of ""tartar buildup"" and bad breath on my 8 year old dog. If we had gone with all of her recommendations we would have been out at least $700. We have kids and a mortgage and there is no room in our budget for this. When we declined we were made to feel like we don't care for our animal (even though we were there for him to get his annual shots). Another thing that annoyed me was our dog has floppy ears and is prone to ear infections and several times he has been prescribed ear drops. At the old location we could just call and get these refilled. Now we were told that the ones we had gotten last time were expired (which they weren't, I got home and checked and they still have 6 months on them) and that in order to receive a refill we would have to do additional tests, etc (to the tune of $100). \r \r I'm not happy, don't like the upsell and guilt and wish they had just stayed at their old location. I'm not planning on returning again. Back to find another reputable affordable vet in town. more

Thank You Clovis Pet Hospital(: 3/16/2012

I highly recommend Clovis Pet Hospital. I have a 8 year old Chihuahua that been I have been taking to Clovis Pet Hospital for 2 years now and they've taken such good care of him. He was recently diagnosed with EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) If it wasn't for Peanut's wonderful Doctor Dr. Flores working so quickly on figuring out what he had he would not be here with us anymore. Im so glad they got him in at 4:30pm without an appointment. He stayed there for two days. Dr. Flores called me early everyday to tell me how hes doing. When he first got in there he lost 2 pounds half his weight always being 4 pounds. Just after 2 days hes gained 1 pound. Yesterday Dr. Flores answered all my questions on EPI in terms that I can understand. Peanut has no problems anymore going to Clovis Pet Hospital all the staff is so friendly and welcoming. I would not hesitate on taking any of my animals there. more

Caring, Compassionate, Professional 9/6/2010

I love Clovis Pet Hospital because the entire staff is friendly, caring, and kind. Both Dr. Fenster and Dr. Marsden are wonderful with pets and people! I have taken both my cats and dogs there for over five years. Problems are diagnosed quickly and no unnecessary procedures or medicines are proscribed. When one of my little chihuahuas needed surgery on one of his knees, Dr. Fenster went out of his way to explain exactly what would happen and how it would help. I hated leaving Pip for a few days, but, they took excellent care of him. Now, Pip is pain-free and runs and plays better than ever before! Dr. Marsden diagnosed a difficult problem with Taffy quickly and she couldn't be healthier or happier. I appreciate the fact that both doctors use such gentle voices with my dogs and cats and will even pet them as they examine them. The nursing staff is as professional and well-trained as they are kind and and compassionate. I have gone in for an appointment upset and worried and they have always taken the time to calm my fears. It is evident that the staff at Clovis Pet Hospital love animals and care that they are healthy and happy. I highly recommend Clovis Pet Hospital. more

Efficient and Compassionate 3/7/2010

This vet has taken care of all of my animals. We have a semi-feral cat that we rescued and after trying a different Vet I realized Clovis Pet was much better. Despite the wildness of the cat - the vet was willing and able to examine him. The other vet I took him to, didn't even try to examine him. He just prescribed medication. Both vets at Clovis Pet truly loves dogs and have a soft touch with them when examining them. Pros: Handles semi feral cats well Cons: No house calls, sometimes the wait is long more

Caring Atmosphere 11/23/2009

A friend recommended this hospital. It has been worth the longer drive to get there for me. I've found it to be not only less costly than my old vet but the atmosphere is less gloomy than with my old vet and the staff are friendly and very professional. I always feel relaxed and my dog even more, I'm sure! Dr. Madsen is wonderful when it comes to explaining things--I don't even have to ask. He just seems to know. I like this because I enjoy learning the whys and hows of pet care and treatment and that can't happen unless we receive instruction and feedback. This helps me take care of my pets better in turn. Thank you Dr. M and staff for making me and my dog Autumn feel welcome and for the attentive care! Pros: Good communication more
