Our room was simple, clean and spacious. Very close to downtown Salem. Exactly what we were looking for. We enjoy Salem in September as to avoid the crowds that start in October. We look forward to staying again next September! more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Clipper Ship Inn - I had a suite and it was so clean - even the carpets - I was totally impressed - it smelled wonderful and the staff were so friendly and helpful - it is really close to virtually everything and even had a keurig coffee maker in my room with a supply of coffee and tea and all earth friendly toiletries - it certainly made my stay in Salem truly enjoyable - and very reasonable rate - was actually rather surprised as my suite was very spacious and homey more

After some long day's of travel from Minnesota, the staff at the Clipper Ship Inn were very friendly and helpful. After calling around to a few other Hotels/Motels in the area it was apparent that the Clipper Ship Inn was the place to go. The staff was very helpful in answering all our questions and gave us excellent directions to their place. The rooms were very spacious & CLEAN! A very neat and tidy organization I have to say. The only negative I would have is... with the rooms being so spaceous it made the t.v. a bit small. more

My family and i visit Salem every year and we always stay here. This was the first year i stayed with just a friend and i found it was very easy to walk to downtown Salem. Its about a 15-20 minute walk but for a Brooklyn girl that was nothing. This hotel was defiantly worth the price. The staff is very nice, the rooms are huge and clean. And there are cats in the check in office. I would recommend this, and i will be coming back here. more

My friends from Iowa and I had a great time in Salem, MA. The staff at Clipper Ship Inn were professional, friendly, and very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and quiet. Parking was free. The Inn was close to everything. Thank you, Clipper Ship Inn. We will return. more

I occasionally travel to Salem on business and was referred to the Clipper Ship by a friend (I usually stay in chain motels as they tend to be newer). This place is clean as a pin and very well maintained I like to prepare most of my own food and not only want a microwave and fridge but a sink/counter for clean up which they have. Even the coffee is upscale with a Keurig brewer in the room. more

This is my top choice for stays in the North Shore. I feel the location along with the value of the Inn make this my go to place. My daughter and I stayed here this past spring and we found the staff very friendly and accommodating. more

Accommodations at the Clipper Ship exceeded our expectations! Our suite was home away from home for 8 days. The staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Walking distance to all the sites in Salem, close to the train station or $5 cab ride to anywhere in Salem. We were greeted with Dunkin Donut gift cards at check-in, got 10% discount at 4 nearby restaurants and enjoyed the K-Cup each day. Clean rooms. Would stay there again. more

I've worked on a Continental Airlines for 6 years & come to Salem twice a year & always enjoy my stay at the Clippership Inn & always recommend my coworkers to staying at the Clippership because of the great location & customer service. You could walk into town but after the long day of sight seeing, I recommend taking a cab back. The rooms are great & the staff are always friendly & helpful. more

Recently visited Salem attractions. The Clipper Ship Inn was recommended by the visitor center. Was not disappointed at all. Rooms exceeded expectations. I ended up staying for a week. Plan on returning in the summer more

It's an older motel, but it is very clean. The staff are very nice and helpful, and went out of their way to pay attention to each person checking-in. There was also a kurig coffee maker in the room with different types of coffee. The only thing I would have changed would have been an extra pillow. more

Very close to Salem downtown, only a few minutes away. Nice color-coordinated rooms (cream and cranberry). You have choices - pets are welcome, smoking and non-smoking rooms. Clean bathrooms. Dunkin Donuts right across the street, but Kuerig machine in the room. Front desk helpful with navigating the Salem area. more

The location is 15 minutes from downtown Salem. The management and staff are wonderful, helpful, and always trying to create a stress free and friendly environment. The rooms are large, warm, and clean. One of the best motels I have ever stayed at. The price is competitive and well worth it. You won't be disappointed. more

I just wanted to let people know that if they are thinking about staying in Salem, MA they should consider staying at the Clipper Ship Inn. We've stayed there three times now and every time it seems to be a bit nicer. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly along with Salem the cat that greets you! And the K-cup coffee machine is a welcome change. It's much less expensive to stay here than the other hotels. We have to drive into downtown Salem but it only take 5 minutes. Well worth the savings on the rooms! We very much recommend this place. more
