Took my membership elsewhere. Pool has globs of hair floating to the surface from the bottom which you can see all the filth. Mold growing on walls. Bathroom and locker rooms smell awful and have mold growing on floors and walls. Took my kids out of this place. I put in comment card and was never answered back. When I took it to the front desk they told me Mr. Paslay who is the director doesn't like members comments on how he should run things and that was that. That was that with my membership at this particular Y . NOT RECOMMENDED. Calling the central office in OKC they told me none of the YMCA's in the are affiliated with the one in Norman more

This place is THE worst YMCA that I have been in. I have been on job related duties here in the area for over a year now. My experience has not been good. The place could be a lot cleaner. The pool has globs of hair and skin popping to the surface that swimmers get entangled in while swimming.The pool tiles have mold growing into them around the pool area. The locker room is filthy. I have seen head lice in some of the lockers. You tell the front desk, they tell you that you need to put in a comment card in. You do and no one ever gets back to you. You then ask to talk to the director someone named Paslay who tells you he doesn't want to hear from you and is rude. You learn that some members and staff alike tell you he is a bully and don't like to deal with him because they value their jobs. I have found better choices that are in the neighborhood. I have ran into members who I seen at the YMCA nd they are happy they are no longer at that one. more

I would never refer any of my family and friends to go here. If I had know how terrible they were I never would have gone. Every time I've called and left a message, I've never heard back. It's extremely annoying. The staff here is so rude and unfriendly! I felt absolutely invisible! I would advise everyone I know to avoid this place! I refuse to step foot back in there. Every time they left the room, the staff would immediately begin complaining about how much they disliked working there. It made me nervous, and I didn't go back more

The hot tube was very dirty, The locker room and pool was not much better. Some members seemed to avoid the use of the hot tub because I was told some caught infections from going in there. I dismissed that and went in. When I got out I noticed a slim and smelly odor on my skin. I immediately hit the shower only to find out that day they only had cold water. When I attempted to bring this to the their attention. I was treated very rudely by the top person. While other YMCA's in the OKC are are very much satisfactory, I cannot say the same about this one. I will never be going back again. Not recommended more

This place is mismanaged. I experience and have seen the way the director of the place has shown favoritism and has treated some of its members that have since not been back. When you complain it doesn't go anywhere. The director himself said he does what he wants and has no one to answer for. On account of the way this place is ran, and the total lack of accountability that the leadership has exhibited, I since have took myself and family to better places. more

The steam room and sauna were filthy. There were the smell of urine on the seats. The sauna and pool were not much better. I was cautioned about going to the director of the place that my membership might be put in jeopardy because he don't like people complaining about the place. I just didn't go back. more

The time I worked at this place I dreaded. Members don't have any idea. All the director talks about is his YMCA Retirement Fund. I couldn't believe the way he mis treated former members. It is not a friendly, clean place to exercise. more

There was ice at the enterence way. To make matters worse members were tracking water from their shoes on the inside floor making for very slippery conditions. I spoke th a Joe Paslay who id\s director of the place concering this. His respose was totally unexpected. He said that he dares me to tell him how he should run the place and that if I didn't like it that I was free to turn over my membership card and get out. I just couldn't believe it.........how he talks to members. I will never go back! more

I was a guest at this YMCA, my mother being the member. I found the restroom unaccepable and when I brought this to the attention of the front information desk they told us that we have to discuss it with a Joe who takes care of matters like this. They got him on the phone. She said that he said if I don't like the way the place is , that we were free to find somewhere else to exercise, and what do we expect the place to be like the Waldorf Astoria with so many people? We both thought his answer was arrogant and harsh and haven't been back. more

Unlike most reviewers, I was horribly unimpressed with the facilities at this YMCA. The women's locker rooms were decently clean, but the pool was FILTHY. I cannot stress this enough. The pool was absolutely DISGUSTING. While swimming laps one morning, my hand got caught in a massive gob of hair. When looking at the bottom of the pool, there were literally masses of hair floating on the bottom and the top of the water. The tile on the sides of the pool is slick with slime and sludge. No joke, the grout in between the tiles is filled with mold and mildew. I understand that there is a high volume of people that frequent the YMCA, but the pool is unacceptable. It needs to be drained and CLEANED. And if the filters are so old/in need of repair that they can't filter hair, then they need to be replaced. I've worked at two YMCAs and one aquatic facility, both of which had high volumes of bathers. It is NOT impossible to keep a pool clean, if not pristine. They simply do not clean. Same with the workout room and equipment. It is barely wiped down at best. Because of the obvious lack of care put into this YMCA, I will NOT be renewing for next month. It is disgusting. The CEO of the place treats employees and members horrible and doesn't want to hear any criticism on how he runs the place. more

Can tell this place is mismanaged. Shop around. There are better choices in the metro area. more

I have been to many a Y but this one stands out as being the worst. The place is dirty, feces on the floor of the bathroom. The pool is dirty although I must say the lifeguard I talked to was nice. Everyone seems to dread the director of the place named Joe as I was advised never to deal with him, He was screaming at some kids that echoed throughout the building. If you enjoy a fitness center that is mis-managed, dirty, and doesn't seem to care about it's members, then this place is for you. If not there are much better choices one can make. more

Was there as a guest of a member. Has issues about the hot tub being dirty. The pool wasn't much better. It had skin and hair floating to the top from the bottom and did'n look like it was being kept clean. I talked my concerns to a member of the aquatics staff who told me I need to call a Mr. Paisley which I did the following morning. I was surprise how rude he was. He told me if this was a complaint that he didn't want to hear about it .Said a few more harsh words and hung up on me. I will never go back there again and encourage everyone not to patronize this particular Y. more

Place is dirty and poorly managed. Lower staff seems intimadated by current director. Locker rooms are dirty and spotted bugs in a locker. Didn't have hot water on the day I was there. The other Ymca's in the area are managed much better and are a lot more family friendly. more

Facility was dirty compared to others in area. Most staff were helpful but some were not. Have the impression that the director of the place has anger issues as I heard him on several occasions screaming at members. Some staff seem fearful of their boss.I took my wife and kids and now belong to another club which is so much better. more

Complained to the director of this place about some sanitary issues that I had concerning this particular ymca. His response to me was that if I didn't like the way he ran the place that I was free to go somewhere else to play. I did just that. more
