Left my cc there and when I went to pick it up they said they shreaded. Then when I asked to speak to a manager, she came over and practically cussed me out for something they did wrong. Terrible, I had even called the minute I realized it was missing and told them I was coming to get it some time this wk. Ridic! more

Excellent restaurant. Huge portions. Definitely can split a plate between two people. Red cabbage and the green salad are to die for and the cheese bread is awesome. more

Well it's a classic tradition in Covina... we used to work at the Black Angus down the street from here when we were younger and North Woods Inn was a ""treat"" for us. The menu is expensive but we just come for the cheese bread, blue cheese salad and the baked potatoes!! Yes, they still serve you roasted peanuts that you can just toss the shells on the floor, which is already completely covered with sawdust and shells... I'm wondering how often do they clean their floors??? -- just my own thoughts to ponder. Never mInd me :) I don't believe they take reservations and if you are coming with a large party they will not seat you until all guests have arrived so BE AWARE and the waits can be long on the weekends. Parking is out back and plenty of it. We sat in a room where their was naked art work... female bodies nude that is. The people I was with didn't care but hmmm what to tell the children while they are eating their salad and look up to ladies *ahem cough* naked Ta Ta's illuminated behind them? Anyhoo as I was saying menu expensive, selection - plenty to choose from by way of Seafood, Beef and Chicken and everyone I heard around me (our table didn't order the Beef) raved about the steaks so I guess that's a good thing. They served sherbet for my friends birthday and sang to her in a ROBUST manner all is still good at the North Woods Inn. Bar prices were moderate and mugs were tall and MANLY! Clearman's North Wood's Inn has been a favorite place of mine, my family, and my friends for a lot of years now. I've gone to this location about 12 times so far this year and each time I've come away more than satisfied with the food, service, atmosphere, and prices. To start off you get their signature salads, a green salad with a house blue cheese and a red cabbage salad with vinegar and oil along with some fresh sourdough cheesebread. The salads and bread are all you can eat. The steaks and seafood are excellent. The sides of a huge potato with cheese butter and a very good rice pilaf compliment each meal perfectly. If you still have room they have chocolate rum sundaes for dessert. They have a full bar and a good wine list and plenty of tap or bottled beers to choose from. The atmosphere is not very private but its still a great place to take a date. Clearman's is one of the best steakhouses in the area and this location in Covina is probably the better of the 3 North Woods I have been to. (The other two being in San Gabriel and La Mirada.) When you go, tell the wait staff in secret about your date's birthday and they'll get a song and a surprise. Highly Recommended. Pros: The Salads. The Bread. Steaks and Seafood done well. They have this cheese bread that i could seriously eat for days. It is probably not the healthiest but who cares. I don't eat steak but family and friends say it is some of the best they have ever had. Also it is a fun place, you can throw peanuts on the floor, and it has a cabin theme. It is dark in there so if you don't like that kind of lighting you might get annoyed. Also the portions are huge so watch out if you are on a diet. more

I have a rather nostalgiac feeling about this place. They have the best garlic bread around the area. The atmosphere is cozy too, with the peanut shells on the floor and the dark mood lighting. It's not just for couples though. They have children's meal and it's good for the whole family. more

Clearmans North Woods Inn is great! The atmosphere is awesome and the food is excellent. They offer fish and steak. Their menu is very simple, but expensive. But it's VERY worth it! The floor is covered in peanut shells and saw dust. The lights are dimmed and the mood is very relaxed. Each meal is served with their well known cabbage salad or regular salad, the BEST garlic cheese bread ever and your meal. The portions are large and you will probably need a doggy bag. The customer service you'll receive is excellent. They also have banquet rooms and it's a great place to celebrate a birthday! North Woods truely offers a great meal. A++++ more

I just tried this place today after not really being able to find anywhere else to go. I really did not like the setting. The lighting was really red and had I went during the day instead of at night, I know I would have been blinded if I went outside. It is too dark in there! It gave me a creepy feeling kinda like "Nightmare on the 13th Floor". The food sucks. All they have on the menu are sandwiches which are very pricey like $8-$10 with meager servings. The steak and seafood platters also cost a grip for $20+. I would not suggest this place to anyone unless they really love this type of American food and have an endless cash flow. more
