The owner of this shop is not someone you want to trust with your money! He (Todd Lachmann) doesn't accept credit cards; some lame story about former fraud and being in a class action suit against Merchant Services. I thought I did a good job of checking him out before giving him a check, but I was wrong. I gave this guy $1,648.08 for a Strasser Woodenworks bathroom vanity and mirror. He cashed my check on 4/29/08. Several times I contacted Todd for a status. He told me that Strasser was having production problems; something with the new finishes they're using, etc. I've called Strasser directly several times and they deny having any production problems. Today is 7/29/08 and I have neither the product nor my money and Todd appears to be missing (again)! I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office. Turns out the owner let his business license expire at the end of Jan-08 and has not yet renewed/reinstated it! Every day I call the shop and Todd's cell phone to leave messages, but they are never returned. Every time I go by the shop during business hours the shop is closed. I filed a complaint with the police several weeks back. They paid Todd a visit and Todd said that he has/had some major family medical crisis, but that he would return my money. Ok.... well common sense tells you that if you don't take credit cards then you have an added responsibility to keep in contact with your customers. You can't just take their money and then never order the products or never contact them again! On 7/12/08 I briefly spoke with Todd by phone; he promised to send me a refund, but has not followed through yet. Clearly he has lied about other things, so why should this be any different? Unfortunately my next step is to take this guy to court to see if I can get my money back. I'm quite upset about this whole situation and would like to warn others to be very, VERY careful if they choose to do business with him!
Pros: Plenty of Parking
Cons: Doesn't accept credit cards
