I've lived and worked and travelled all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland and I can tell you the Clark House is such a welcome addition to Rochester's sometimes monochromatic dining scene!\r

My wife and I were there on a Friday about 6:00 PM. We were promptly and graciously seated in a cozy booth at a window looking out on the lawn.\r
\r
Drinks - a nice medium dry Riesling - arrived promptly and we were tickled at the variety of German speciaties on the menu.\r
\r
Perhaps it was just the atmosphere -- or maybe it was the Riesling -- but the food seemed to have arrived very quickly indeed, especially considering the quallity!\r
\r
For dessert, we shared a fantastic Tiramisu with a rich Espresso.\r
\r
One final note: they had live music! A very tasteful pianist added to the warm, but classy atmosphere.\r
\r
The music and the facilities really complemented the meal.\r
\r
My only negative would have to be the (sometimes comical) misspellings on the menu. They were innocent enough, really, and not difficult to figure out what was actually meant.\r
\r
All in all, we enjoyed some great German food served graciously in a beautiful setting. True Gemutlichkeit, in my opinion!\r
\r
In the short time that we've know about it, the Clark House has become a favorite of all my friends in the German, Austrian and Swiss community -- and these folks can be mighty picky!
Pros: Great continental food served in a warm setting -- even had live music!!
Cons: No real cons other than the occasional funny spelling mistakes on the menu!
