Very nice hotel, quiet and large. Three floors of 10 rooms on each floor.\r The rooms are big enough to host even three to a room.\r Multi-channel TV, king-size bed and shower, comfortable and pleasant.\r Air-conditioned room coffee and a small kitchenette with microwave and utensils.\r Excellent breakfast with great selection (relative to American breakfast).\r Close to the airport and the motorways to travel to any site in the region.\r In summary a very good hotel, nice and rested. more

The room is comfortable and clean. It is attractive. Its location is convenient to downtown San Jose and not far from 101. The breakfast was good. There was a choice of cereals, hot waffles, bread and begals, juices and coffee. more

Fred at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious; we had two double beds, a kitchen sink, fridge, and a very large and clean bathroom. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and I would stay here again the next time in san jose. Good value and good location. Thanks so much! more

We were given room 106. It couldn't have been more perfect. The beautiful vaulted ceiling made the room feel larger. Because it was on the end of the building, it had two nice windows. Being able to park right outside our door was extra convenient. \r \r Though the building has possibly been there a long time, it's very clean and beautifully decorated. All of the typical goodies (including a shower cap which many motels don't include) were replenished each day. The service was professional, friendly and helpful.\r \r The business event we were attending was at the fair grounds, less than 2 miles away. It was easy to come and go any time of the day or night.\r \r I don't know what the other rooms were like, but we loved our room. Oh.. and the internet was the fastest I'd ever experienced. (we can't get DSL where we live.. so this was a treat)\r \r The breakfast was 'continental'.. but very adequate with a good selection. We would definitely stay there again if/when in the San Jose area.\r \r oh - Instead of getting a pizza for dinner, about 1 mile south on Monterey Hwy, you'll find Toni Di Maggio's Pizza. The Stromboli is probably the best on the planet. (and it helps support the small local businesses) more

Wifi worked. If this location works for you, this is a decent hotel. Clean. Nothing fancy. Breakfast was fine. Handy laundry machine, but yes, having change available would be helpful. Covered parking spaces on the back building (two buildings). Generous with late check out. more

I booked this hotel through Expedia for a brief business trip, and I enjoyed my stay. I got a first floor room facing the road (neither set-up is my favorite), but the room was spacious, clean, comfy, and even had an extra sink outside of the bathroom. everything was in good working order. No problems with noise.\r \r Breakfast was well-stocked and well-maintained. Mostly continental, with some boiled eggs and fruits, decent selection. Staff was quite friendly. Would stay again. more

Have stayed here on business a couple of times. The room is always clean and comfortable. Staff fairly friendly and accomidating. Not much within walking distance so if you don't have a car, you are pretty well stuck. There are plenty of places to eat near by. more

My fiance and I recently took a roadtrip up the California coast. Of the three hotels/motels that we stayed in, the Clarion Inn Silicon Valley was probably the nicest. We got a room by the road that featured a microwave/fridge combo, a large sink vanity, a flat-screen TV, and decent furnishings. My fiance particularly appreciated the five pillows on the bed (two different types for whatever your preference). I appreciated the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion set. The other motels only gave us one bottle of a shampoo/conditioner combo. In the morning, they had a continental breakfast featuring varying pastries, juices, yogurt, and a waffle-maker (among other things) that was quite nice. All in all, the accomodations were above expectations. more

Stayed here for a couple of nights during my annual mini-vacation to the south bay area will stay here again next year if I do the same trip. I only payed $71 per night (before taxes) which was a great value. I liked the look of the hotel inside and out. Outside, nice buildings and grounds. Inside, great looking lobby area and hallways. My room was clean and undamaged and had a lot of amenities. It certainly looks like it should cost more, especially during the tourist season. Bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was good--I have had better, but have had much worse. Geographically, it is easy to get to various places in San Jose from the hotel. more

Good position, 15 minutes away from downtown San Jose (by bus). Big rooms, clean, with all you can need. Many power plugs. Free WiFi. The staff was polite and helpful. I didn't have the opportunity to notice anything about the neighborhoods, cause I have been out for all the days of my stay. Very close to the airport too (Mineta International Airport), so that the cab trip charge is lower than 35$. more

We had a very difficult time finding a room in San Jose on the night that we wanted because we waited too long to book. However, I was pleasantly surprised that our room was spacious, the carpet looked relatively new, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a nice large flat screen TV with Direct TV channels, a microwave, refrigerator, free wi-fi and coffee pot in the room. For only $114 a night, I was very pleased with our stay. more

If you need a stopover or somewhere handy for business this place is great. It's very pleasant and excellent value for around 90 dollars a night.\r \r Everything is spotlessly clean and the staff are verypleasant and helpful. Beats the big chains such as Comfort inn and Ramada hands down. Choose this first! more

I recently traveled to San Jose regarding legal business, and I paid for my attorney to travel and stay there as well. I stayed where they leave the light on, and his secretary booked him into the Clarion Inn on Monterey Road. I was going to chide him for booking such a nicer place, but found out it was only twenty dollars more than where I was, and that included breakfast! I thought it would be at least one hundred dollars more from the appearance of the facility. The staff there (desk man Sean and night shift Fred) offered me coffee while I waited, even though they knew I was not a guest, and made me feel as if I were. The people at the motel where I was staying were nice also, but the facility was not as nice in appearance and I was next to a freeway and all of the noise that goes with it, and I spent almost twenty on breakfast at IHOP. The bottom line is that I feel Clarion gives you more for your money, and on my next trip I'll be staying there whether the other place leaves the light on or not. more

Our family has been coming back to this hotel for many years. Always satisfied! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 4/10/2014

I was reluctant to stay after reading some of the reviews of this place. But I was pleasantly surprised, not bad at all. The room was clean and the bed was nice. We stayed a week and housekeeping was superb. The television could use more channels, but we we're on vacation and mostly seeing the sights in and around town. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was a bonus. No bad experiences. We would definitely stay again. more
