Delicious Italian 3/4/2011

Clara's serves delicious Italian food. My wife and I love coming here, it is one of our favorite restaurants. It's heavier than La Sorella di Francesca (which is another favorite) but just as delicious. The complimentary bread is always fresh and the lasagna is amazing. You seriously can't go wrong with whatever you choose. more

Save yourself some $$$ - get Ragu!!! 8/5/2006

If your idea is good pasta comes out of a can, then this place is for you! Hey, it's the suburbs, what do you expect? OK with the Mama Celeste thing...I get it. As far as I know, soup shouldn't be at room temp!! Special of the day is chicken vesuvio. I ask if it's ""on the bone"" (as chicken vesuvio should be, right?) he says ""yes, or you can have breasts"" I order ""on the bone"" I get breasts!!! Then he looks at me and says ""do you want me to change it"" No...cause it's not gonna be anything different. Basically chicken, in broth with a lot of oregano and red and green peppers and roasted baby red potatoes. Hey, what's wrong with this picture? Shouldn't it be seasoned crispy baked 1/2 a chicken, with garlic, olive oil, butter and white wine and peas with wedges of roasted potatoes and some rosemary?? And, hey, next time, when you bring it out, at least make sure it's hot!! After all, shouldn't it be at least 140 degrees? Like I said, it's the suburbs. Thank goodness for people who don't know real Italian food......that's what makes these restaurants so popular!!! Pros: Nice decor, good parking Cons: Mediocre food at best!! more

Pleasant Surprise 9/29/2002

Our first visit on Sept. 27, 2002 was a nice experience. The Apps and entree's and desserts were all excellent. Resonable prices. The dining room could use some window treatments to soften that ""strip mall feel,"" but all in all a great dining experience. Pros: Great Food, more

Give it a Try!!!! 9/27/2002

Clara's has good pasta. It is homemade and on most evenings, it is quite good and tender. Sometimes it is alittle hard. Clara's is a good place for alot of decent food at somewhat fair prices. It does get crowded and slows the service down. But it is definietly worth the wait. The eggplant parmesian is similar to the old world way. They have light dishes (that aren't too tasty - needs more spices). But the overall experience is great! Pros: Good Food, Big Portions Cons: Long Waits, Crowded, Small Bathroom more

poor service 9/25/2002

Had a chance to dine at Clara's but the experience was far from enjoyable. The waitress switched my meal with another patrons' so the meal had to be prepared again. I received my meal after the rest of my party had finished. In an attempt to make up for the mix up the waitress gave me a free desert (of HER CHOOSING!). The food was above average. more
