Worst dining experience ever. We dined at the Claim Jumper for lunch on 3/19/2013 and were ignored at the front desk while servers stood around and chatted. After several minutes a server from the other side of the restaurant walked by and said ""you can just grab a seat in the bar"". We waited for several minutes for a server to come by and give us menus. Then waited for 10 minuted to take our order, then 30 minutes for the food to come out cold, with shiny french fries that looked like they were soaked in grease for hours. We did not have anyone stop by to see how the food was prepared, so we couldn't send it back. We waited 20 minutes after we were done to get the check, and then it has items on the bill we did not order. After seven minutes of waiting for the corrected check, I walked to the front desk where the shift manager was chatting with five servers that were all standing around. I asked about my corrected check, and he said ""I was just about to do that"". In summary, this was the worst dining experience of my life. more

Claim Jumper definitely has one of the longest waits to be seated in the surrounding area. On a weekend you can easily wait one to two hours for a table during peak times. The food is really inconsistant, some things seem quite bland while others seem to be just right. One thing for sure, the portions are LARGE. However, even judging by the amount of food I get everytime I go there, I always feel like I paid too much for the meal considering the quality of food. There are definitely other places where you can get better quality for your dollar. On the other hand, the Jumper's salad bar is always fresh, the menu has plenty of variety in types of cuisine, the service is normally attentive and the atmostphere is fitting to those looking for a family style restaurant. They have monster desserts that will impress most people, as if you weren't already full from the huge entree. They have a bar where they serve half-price appetizers and discount drinks during happy hour. Fair warning though, the portions (half-price appetizers) are pretty much just as halved as the price. You won't come away feeling like you saved any money by hitting them up at happy hour. There is a lengthy drink menu of current favs, and most of the time the bartenders are on top of their game. Overall I would still give Claim Jumper a 6.5 for service, amount of food, and atmosphere. Everytime you go you'll come away feeling full, but perhaps still a bit unsatisfied, especially if you've braved a two hour wait. I have never had a bad meal at any Claim Jumper. This one is no exception. The portions are unbelievable and the food is scrumptious. The fried chicken breast with potatoes, biscuits and gravy is to die for. The huge BBQ combo I split with my husband was heavenly. BBQ so good that you are gnawing the bones (sorry for the bad picture, but some will know what I mean).\r \r There is a wait, but it is well worth it. Go into the bar and have a beer from one of the largest lists I've ever seen.\r \r Get dessert even if you are bursting. They have to be seen to be beleived. Share it with the whole table. Trust me. The food was so bland. They have no taste. My partner had the beef steak and i had chicken. Neither of our food was good at all. SUre, the quantitiy they gave you is a lot. But, the food does not taste good at all. I would never go back. more

There's huge portions and everything is delicious. The service is amazing. At times, it can be crowded, but its worth it to wait. Come during lunch since there are lunch specials with big portions+a little lower prices. Pros: delicious, great service Cons: expensive more

Claim Jumpers had me feeling as if I was eating with the Indians. After a 1 hour stake out of hunting buffalo, we all came back to the village and had inhuman sized portions. The only difference.. The meat on my plate wasnt Buffalo and I wasnt in a village. The ribs were so juicy and tender I felt as if I was eating ""Eve's Rib"". The mash potatos tasted as if Picasso gave up painting and took up the culinary arts. The chicken was so mouth watering ""I myself laid an egg"". Good food, good service. Thats the american way. My lovely woman bought me dinner so I didnt have to fit the bill. Which made the meal just a little extra tender. I like going to this Claim Jumpers because the food is given in big portions. You pay what you get for! The only thing is that when there is await--there is await!!! You want to get there early to avoid the long lines, but once you are there you will enjoy the food. more

and a large appetite try this place. The amount of food this place serves can feed me through several meals and I don't consider myself a light eater. The Clam Chowder in a bread bowl is a favorite, and if you want ribs you will get plenty. My only complaing is the crowds. The restaurant does not take reservations and there is always a long wait. We used to come at night for an office celebration and we would send someone one hour ahead of time to put our name in. You will not leave this restaurant hungry! I love the atmosphere, you feel like you've stepped back in time. Be sure to get here early, it gets kinda crowded most nights. I had the Miners Combo, theres no way you can finish the whole thing. I've been there four times and never made it to dessert. more
