I can really appreciate a talented hair stylist. It takes a lot of confidence for stylist to work ""magic"" and pray the client will like it. My girl Ashley gets 5 STARS. She rocks it every single time. I could not be more pleased with her. Now a days good PROFESSIONAL stylists are hard to come by, unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars of course. I think Ashley is one of the best. I have never had anyone do my hair the way she does. I have been sending friends , family and co workers her way and will continue to do so. more

I recently started going to Aqua salon this year in hopes of finding a ""loyal"" hairdresser. Someone i can book an appointment with every six weeks for recoloring, without having to worry about how its going to turn out every time. Christina did just that for me and more, she is the best hairdresser i have ever been to, shes quick, great, and i know what to expect every single time i walk in the door. the prices are great as well! more

My daughter and I have been going to Aqua Salon for about 2 years now. Julie is our hairstylist and she does and absolutely fabulous job. We have had cut, color, wax, up do's, blow outs and have never been disappointed. She is very accomodating with her schedule. She has rearranged her personal time to appease mine. She is awesome. I have been going to Aqua in Royal Oak for about a year and a half now. Martha is my girl; she is amazing! I am VERY particular about my hair, and I have never left this place disappointed. I have short, fine hair and require a very precise cut. It always looks great. Martha is a genius with color, too. I'm one of those girls that's always looking for something new and fun, and she always has amazing ideas (and sometimes much appreciated warnings.) She's great with men's hair, too. I convinced my husband to go see her a few months ago and he loves how she does his hair. Highly recommended!! more

ASHLEYS AMAZING! I was just refered to Ashley at aqua salon by a co worker of mine. I am so happy I found her! I came in wanting to go really really blonde, ashley suggested a very rich red color for me. Its fantastic! She really has a vision. She was so sweet in suggesting her professional opinion for me. I have sent my daughter her way also and she did a fantastic job on her highlights and cut. Another great perk is that the price was so reasonable. I thought royal oak I would be paying at least 150-200 but it was not at all that! Go see ashley ! more

I have been going to Lisa for about a year now. She is one of the sweetest and genuine people I have met in a long time. I am extremely picky about my hi lights and right from the get go, Lisa made me feel so comfortable about my expectations. She assured me that she specializes in blondes and that most of her clients are blondes! When I came in she was finishing a blonde and when I was all done she had another blondie waiting for her! Needless to say, she did an amazing job on my color. It was very natural looking, bright, and it felt healthy! I have never been disapointed when I've seen Lisa.... I wont be going to anyone else! The only drawback about the salon is that it is kind of dumpy on the inside. They could use some remodeling. But that is my only complaint. Everyone at aqua is very friendly, outgoing, and fun! I highly recommend this salon! more

I've been going to Aqua for at least a couple of years now, I can't believe it took most of my life to find a Styilist that I LOVE!!! I can truely call her an artist!.... Her name is MARTHA. She will work with you and your vision for your look and make you look amazing!!!! I recently decided to give another salon a chance since my salon getting a little to pricey. I told my stylist Justine what I had in mind, and she listened and gave me a new idea for my color. Im so happy with the color and its great to have a hairdresser i can trust since im always open for change. All the other stylists there were nice and greeted me with a smile. I love going here. I found Aqua back when I was living in Ann Arbor, and now that I live in Ferndale the drive is obviously much better! I forget the name of the girl I go to, but I believe it is Christina. I came to her from a previous stylist with horrible highlights.. really thick and many, many tones. She knew exactly what to do and had me fixed up in no time. The cost was way less than I expected, and I have been going back since. Yes, the salon can be a little untidy sometimes, but it's not at all dirty like some reviewers have claimed. I have never found the staff to be 'crazy' either. It's almost like we are talking about different salons or something. I am never going anywhere else. My stylist is friendly, always knows what I am thinking and charges a very reasonable rate. I couldn't ask for more. The only thing I miss compared to past salons is some type of beverage service. Usually I bring a coffee or drink in with me, but considering my visits are usually 2 hrs I'd appreciate being offered a drink in case I forget. My old salon had mimosas and tea, but I suppose I was technically paying for the drinks considering how much my services cost. Pros: Price and service Cons: No beverage service? more

I went on citysearch before going to Aqua. I read the reviews, and some were not very good. I overlooked them though because the prices were good. Well, all I can say is... Listen to the reviews!! You definently get what you pay for! I went in their for highlights and came out with orange hair!! And the highlights dont even go to the roots. The place is kind of a dump, and everyone is running around like they dont know what their doing. I think I switched chairs like 5 times. What a mess..... thought it was a great deal... got my hair done... and you get what you pay for..... i will NEVER go back there. and neither should you if you care about your image. Cons: dirty environment, needs remodeling, employees are nuts more

First experience was ok, second was a tragedy. I left with my hair bright orange like a clown, the lighting inside the salon was low so I couldn't tell how bad it was until I got outside...reason for tears! So embarrassed to go to work the next day, then Amy fixed it the following night, it was blonde again, but severely damaged and fried after. Had to cut it much shorter - still trying to grow it back out from this debaucle. Needless to say, I never went back. Cons: Left orange, not blonde more
