I LOVE my hair, I've seen Shayne for years.I have alot of grey and my hair is crazy curly. She makes my hair look gorgeous, people think my red is natural, I have to get my color done every 5 weeks, I get compliments right up til I'm due to see her again. Love City Salon- love my Shayne! I have had 2 great cuts from City Salon. I had a different stylist each time, and both were very friendly. Both gave me great haircuts, and the wait time was minimal. I was very pleased with my experience. Pros: professional atmosphere more

Awesome place for just about anything! 11/4/2009

I get my hair done by Catie -- cut and color and she always does a fabulous job and she does my eyelashes (extenstions). This is a great new service; I don't know if anyone else in town does these, and they are amazing! The salon's atmosphere is beautiful too. Love going in there! Excellent service and styling 2/17/2009

I have been going to City Salon for a year now. I had one bad haircut there from a stylist who is no longer there, and City Salon was quick and generous in the way they corrected it. I have since been getting my haircut by Joseph and he does an AMAZING job. I love my haircuts....each one is different and sassy and makes me feel great! I highly recommend seeing Joseph; he has a real talent. The service has always been pleasant in all respects! more

Ask who your getting before you make an appointment 7/8/2008

They fix their mistakes, that is one nice thing I can say. I saw Deanna for cut and color and it was AWFUL, not what I asked for. My hair was, I don't know what color it was, but it wasn't pretty. I called and came in for her to fix it, but still, not what I asked for, I'm not picky, I'm just blonde. They put me with another stylist and she was AMAZING! thank for fixing your mistake City Salon. Thanks Chance.I've seen just about every stylist in the salon, and never had a problem before. My hair is looking fantastic now. I just know to be a bit more choosy about my stylist. Pros: They were nice enough to let me come back, no charge until I liked my hair Cons: Ask about the stylist before you make an appointment. more

Excellent service 3/25/2008

I went to City Salon for a wax before going on a beach holiday. Apart from the extreme pain of the waxing, which can't be avoided, I really enjoyed the experience. The asthetician was lovely, and the facilities are gorgeous. She did an excellent job. Highly recommended. Pros: Friendly staff, reasonable rates more

The Five Star reviews are obvious employees of CS&S 1/2/2008

It is such a shame that the pitiful, stylists and co-owners at City Salon & Spa have to resort to creating numerous accounts and offer this horrible, buisness excessive, five star ratings in a matter of days..(which makes it look incredibly, obvious BTW.).If you shop around on the internet, you will find most of the Salon's reviews are highly, negative.. Makeover Magicians 11/15/2006

I get my haircut by Sara at City Salon and Spa and she is wonderful. The new facility is something like Athens has never seen. Another friend of mine was just ""kidnapped"" as part of a new makeover tv show they are shooting there at the salon and her hair turned out amazing. They did the newest style extensions on her and now I want to get them too!! They are the first extensions I have ever seen that looked REAL. I can't wait to see the new show on Charter. Great on every level 11/15/2006

Not only does City Salon and Spa do a fabulous job with my hair they do good in the community as well. I personally participated in a huge fundraiser they did for the hurricane victims last year as well as another big fundraiser for Relay for Life. They seem to understand the value of giving back to the community from which they derive their clients. Kudos to them and thanks for making my hair look great! Setting the record straight 11/15/2006

My stylist told me today about the negative campaign another salon in town is running against City Salon. Shame on them!! Anyone who has ever been in City Salon knows that it is top quality. i was in today to get my color done and a cut and they did a great job as always. I was also able to take care of a good bit of my Christmas gift shopping today in their boutique and thats a huge plus to be able to accomplish multiple tasks at one stop. RAVE RAVE RAVE!!!! Don't be mislead by competitors posing as clients on here. Pros: Two thumbs WAY up!!! more

I have been going to City Salon since I moved here for school four years ago. I was in to get my hair cut yesterday and as usual I LOVE IT!! While I was there one of the stylists mentioned that another salon has been posting bogus reviews of them on here so I wanted to speak up. Looking at the negative reviews on here it is obvious they are part of some plan from another salon. I have never been anything but completely happy here. Pros: Friendly Staff, Quality Service more

How are you still in business 11/14/2006

Six years ago, my hair was ruined there. Now, in your new location, I hoped I could get a quick eyebrow waxing; however, that was a bad idea. I came early in the morning and the sun was utterly blinding. I was miserable. On my way out, I purchased some earrings, and within 10 minutes they were broken. The receptionist was snobby and rude. Maybe you should look into another line of work. I hate to be so rude, but your salon needs a severe attitude readjustment. Pros: Next to Panera Cons: Where do I begin? more

Highly Recommend City Salon 11/11/2006

I have been going to City Salon for almost 5 years. I have never been happier with my hair. They always go the extra mile to make sure I am happy when I leave. Reading these reviews I couldn't believe what these people were saying about City Salon. Then....I looked at their other reviews... Surprise..they all also left RAVE reviews for a competing salon in town. So take those negative coments with a HUGE grain of salt. more

gorgeous! period. the end. 7/31/2006

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair. I saw Shayne and she is simply amazing. I had no idea what to do with my hair. We talked for a few minutes and she flipped open a book and found a picture that was perfect. My highlights are gorgeous, and the cut is so easy to style, all I have to do is fix my bangs and it looks fantastic. I'm so glad my roommates talked me into going to see her. I had the best time, great hair and she is HILARIOUS, I didn't want to leave. Pros: stylist, fun, great space more

This place has the strangest vibe although the space is georgous. I only went here because I loved my stylist who has now moved to another salon. The people at the desk weren't very friendly and the stylist I went to always seemed very stressed out. more

Definitely the BEST of Athens 1/30/2006

I had to post this review. I tried another salon (BOB...can you say DISASTER) at my friends urging..and boy did I regret it. Then after seeing these reviews I had to speak up!! City Salon has been GREAT ever since they opened back in the late 90's. They are the first salon to bring up to date services to Athens!! Lillie is my stylist and she is the absolute BOMB! I should have never tried anyone else..I am sorry Lillie!!! :) The staff is ALWAYS very friendly and make me feel right at home. Great, upscale salon 11/14/2005

I have lived in athens for 10 years and visited numerouse salons. I strongly disagree with Zuga984 and slamber123 regarding their opinions of City Salon. I researched the salon, asked around to find out which stylist would work for me, and made my appointment. When I arrived the staff members were very polite and I was so impressed with the stylist and City Salon in general that I booked another appointment and plan to do the same next time. If your expecting to just walk in and have a seat or pay very little money...visit the place in walmart. This is an upscale salon and even if they accept walk-ins, they are very popular and very busy. If showed up for an APPOINTMENT and found that the staff was pre-occupied with walk-ins, I would find that very rude. Pros: great atmosphere, awesome products, Best stylists more
