A month after I was eligible for food stamps my service was terminated. How many times does someone need to apply. Also it took a month just to receive the food stamp. I think the system, in general, is whack. It seems like when honest people are really in need they get screwed over and they make it literally impossible for you to get that which you need. I met a woman at the FS office who has been on food stamps for 10 years; she was giving me calculations, percentages up the gazoo! It seems like people have been milking the system for years and know it like the back of their hands are the ones who are benefiting. Meanwhile, those of us who have been paying our taxes, who have been effected by this economy can't seem to get any help at all! Cons: long waits; terrible customer service; more

I wonder how the personnel at this Food Stamp/human resources center sleep at night. People go there for help and receive sub-service and sub-standard results. I know of people who have to go back there time and time again to get the same help over and over. Some of the excuses used ""lost the paper work"" ""we have no record of you"" after filling out the same paper work several times ""This is not my responsibility you must go to another department"" even when it is their area of responsibility on and on again. If you are ever in need of public help or assistance good luck because you wont receive it here. Even the phone number that is listed is out of service - have fun.
