Best Riding School In Town 2/16/2008

Circle Lake Ranch has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. She has been taking western style riding lessons there since she was 13 (she's now 17) and has developed a skill in horsemanship and equine care through Layne's vigilant tutelage. In addition this experience has produced character development in her that I see to be a lifelong benefit, namely confidence, responsibility, and safety awareness. Layne has introduced her to a world that is culturally Texas and has inspired in my daughter a passion for the sport . As she progressed in skill, Layne provided opportunities for competition at local, regional and national levels. Additional training in specific skilled areas has also been a plus. Layne encouraged my daughter to progress at her own rate, emphasizing areas of development and competition that interested my daughter. \r \r Our summer camps were delightful experiences allowing her to spend an entire week being exposed to more areas of horses and horsemanship than is possible in a once-a-week lesson. Camp was a week filled with horses, friends, fun and learning. \r \r Layne is, foremost, safety minded which is reassuring to me. She can relate well to her students, and her staff are highly competent. I would recommend Circle Lake Ranch to anyone wanting to train in riding, adult or child. Our experience has been rewarding, positive, and educational.\r Pros: Personalized training tailored to student needs more

Circle Lake Ranch -- Realize your dream! 2/4/2008

\r When my kids went off to college I decided to realize my dream -- learn how to ride and enjoy my passion -- horses.\r I have been taking western lessons, in a group, at this facility for 4 months now. The staff is very patient and kind and are always making sure the I have all the help that I need in tacking up, grooming etc. I am learning centered riding (finding my seat) and safety on and off the horse. \r I attended the Chris Cox show in Katy last weekend and am happy to report that I am learning the same things that he recommends when interacting with a horse. more

Excellent Technical Instruction and Educational & Safety Programs - Family Friendly 10/28/2006

Having grown up around a horse stable with my sister as a youth, she suggested I find a similar place for my daughter once we moved to Katy. This lifestyle builds character in children and teaches them teamwork with their horses and other kids.\r \r My daughter has been a student at this facility for 6 years, now, and she has gone from a ""baby beginner"" to an ""extreme advanced"" rider winning classes in various shows to a reserve championship. We couldn't say enough about the professional instruction, guidance, and support we have received from the owner/director and staff. Without them, none of what she has accomplished would have been possible. Our family's experience with ""CLR"" is definately a huge blessing in building our child's confidence and ability. My daughter is well-prepared for showing in English and Western events - both of which she enjoys. The training she has received is solid and she is a safety prepared kid to enjoy equine activities into her adulthood!\r Pros: Quality instruction, safe, family-friendly more

Very Safe and Educational Horseback Riding Lessons 8/21/2006

Am a current student and I feel I am learning not only how to ride, but how to manage horses as well. There are about 20 lesson horses available. Quality instruction. Pros: Good horses, good instructors more

Good facility in the heart of Katy 7/8/2006

I had my horse here for awhile before I moved. The outdoor arena is huge and relatively even. It is a mixed barn- western and english- more western than english but, a good mix. Good place for beginner and intermediate lessons and a good summer program for kids. The downfall HAS to be the flatland of Katy and it's proneness to collect a lot of water with big rainstorms. BUT... it does have a small covered arena. There are two barns with the back one being the obvious better between the two but, if you want that one, you pay for it! Pros: Paddock Board available, Big outdoor arena Cons: Floods more
