I had my hair cut and colored by Robin, which turned out to be the worst hair experience of my life. First of all, I had shoulder length hair that I wanted to grow longer. I explained to him that I wanted no more than one inch cut off. I also told him that I wanted a classic bob. Did he care about what I wanted? No. He proceeded to tell me that the style I wanted wouldn't look good because my hair was too heavy. I also told him that I wanted a hair color with a hint of red. He also told me that it wouldn't look good and to go "warm." I was expecting that he would give me a book of colors to look at. Nope. He just went to the other room and brought back a bottle with some kind of brown liquid in it. I found out later that this was probably not a permanent dye, which is what I wanted in order to cover up my blonde highlights. Anyway, I went along with it, thinking that this guy is the expert and knows what he's doing. I should have gotten up and left immediately when he refused to give me the cut and color I had asked for. After he had colored, cut, and styled my hair, I turned around and was mortified. I asked for my hair to be one length, but he left the front very short and then the sides really long, so it was sticking out from underneath. I told him that I wasn't going to like it and asked him to cut off the long sides. He didn't even want to do that! He told me to give it a try and only when I was very insistent that I already knew I was not going to like it, he reluctantly cut it. I wasn't happy, but I thought I would give the haircut a try. Since he said that I could wash my hair immediately, I went home and did just that, because it smelled of cigarette smoke, or some kind of odor that was on his hands. When I dried and straightened my hair the way I would normally do so, one side was completely longer than the other. I then remembered that he put a deep part on my head when he started cutting, rather than parting it down the center. I was even more upset to discover that the dye he had put in my hair was coming out! The blonde highlights I wanted covered up were showing, not to mention a ton of gray strands that did not get covered up by the dye at all. So I wasted an entire $95 for a crummy haircut and poor dye job. I will never go to Cienega again and I've told as many people as I can about my horrible experience. I ended up going to a different salon in another city and found a nice gal who gave me the exact color and cut that I wanted. Imagine that! A stylist who will actually do what you ask of them! This experience has taught me to just get up and leave whenever a stylist wants to do their own thing and disregard the wishes of the customer. Go to this salon at your own risk!
Pros: Building looks nice from the outside, but don't be fooled!
Cons: Horrible haircut and color
