GREAT VARIETY 7/20/2011

Having been raised in Austin, I've eaten a lot of Tex-Mex. I also lived in El Paso and Albuquerque, where the food is very different. Chuy's offers a variety of Mexican food on one menu, although none of it is really ""great"". If diners are looking for a dinner of local Tex-Mex, they might try another place. But, if you're looking for the kinds of food offered in west Texas and New Mexico, along with traditional Tex-Mex, then Chuy's is the place. more

Top of the game 6/27/2011

This is one of the best mexican joints around, which is texas is saying a lot. There are more mexican resturaunts in texas than bbq places, well maybe not that many. This one features long waits and strong drinks. Also some of the best salsa dips around. Sometimes I can leave without over eating but not often. Highly recommend ! more

Great food 3/21/2010

very popular place to eat but well worth it. Chuys is perhaps the best mexican resturaunt in Round Rock or Austin. Pros: Food is awesome I love the Hatch sauce Cons: long waits more

One of the best I've found. 1/21/2010

Always look forward to Chuy's. Customer service is great unlike other places. Food is great. This place is definitely an eatery where many people gather to feed and drink so, if you are looking for a quiet, dining experience, perhaps you should try a taco bell. Pros: Customer Service, Good food. Cons: No 'really spicy' salsa. more

Not the best place 10/3/2008

We've eaten here several times. We really like their chips and salsa. The food is good. I like the combo plates and so does my husband. However, we have not been impressed with Chuy's sauces. We tried four out of the six and haven't really cared for any of them. The staff is friendly, but not very prompt. The atmosphere isn't even remotely quiet. My husband and I have to speak really loud just to hear each other every time we dine here. Therefore, this isn't our favorite Mexican food restaurant. Pros: chips and sala Cons: ambience, service more

Great atmosphere, awesome customer service! 8/21/2008

I guess you could say that I am one of the many Chuy's ""regulars"" at the Round Rock location. I have been ordering take-out for several years now on a once or twice a week basis and I have to say that I have always recieved top notch service. There have been slight mix up's in the past but the staff and management have always gone above and beyond to make our To-Go experience great. Unlike some restraunts in the area I can always walk in to the restraunt and be not only greeted but recognized as well. The waitstaff always seems to be having a good time and our meals come out fast and piping hot! However, there are only so many people that restraunt can hold on a friday or saturday night so I tend to bring the family in on mondays (plus it's avacado enchilada day and that is in my opinion the best dish). All in all, Chuy's offers both good dinning and take-out service and if you have not been than I suggest you give it a try. Pros: Fun, energetic environment Cons: Packed on the weekends more

great to go friendly staff, busy on weekends 8/15/2008

This is a casual tex mex restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. I have found their ""to go"" staff always very pleasant and helpful. expect to wait on the phone and have a wait time when you place your order on a fri, or sat. it is always busy on those days, i guess we all don't feel like cooking after a long week at work. in all a great experience dining in and on ""to go"" more

Delicious food, great layed back ambiance, friendly staff 7/31/2008

Me and my mother went here on a thursday at 5pm and there was still a wait...but totally worth it. The decor is unique and kitschy in a good way. I got the 911, which had spicy chicken ensaladas rice and beans, The chicken inside was tender and soo flavorful. The rice was perfectly seasoned and the re-freid beans were smoky...and I think the best I've ever had. Their tacos are also really good. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. Overall great experience! Pros: Great food, relaxed attitude and ambience Cons: Seems like theres always a wait more

Take-Out Order Accuracy is Sub-Par - UPDATED (1/31/2009) 1/25/2008

My wife and I have been Chuy's patrons for over 10 years and when we moved to Round Rock, we were happy to find a Chuy's location that was so close to our neighborhood. The location is very convenient and we occasionally order take-out on our way home from a long day of work. To date, Chuy's Round Rock has screwed up our take-out orders more than five times. We are strict vegetarians, so coming home to find a chicken or steak burrito when you are starving is not very pleasant. The restaurant staff has always offered to refund our money and make the order right, but the last thing I want to do after getting home is head back to Chuy's and pick up a re-make of my order. While they have always been apologetic, they have done nothing to correct the actual problem. I am convinced that the staff is incompetent when it comes to order accuracy. All it takes is a bit of quality control at the end of the line, but the management clearly fails to see the importance of this issue even after our numerous complaints. I have placed my last order at Chuy's Round Rock, and I urge others who are contemplating a to-go order from this establishment to please consider one of the many other alternatives in Round Rock. more

Great place to take kids & the food is good too 11/2/2007

My family really enjoyed going to Chuys in Round Rock. The waite wasn't too bad and the food was good with huge portions. The chips and salsa were very addictive! I wish they had a location closer to us at 620 & 2222. The hill country could use some better mexican diners. Pros: the food and the decor Cons: the location more

Tex Mex You Must Try 4/3/2007

the local austinites brought me to Chuys to try tex-mex for the first time and let's just say that I was hooked to their salsa and chips! They were bloody good!!!!! Pros: Good food, the amazing salsa and chips! Cons: queue to wait for dining during lunch. more

Always busy, Great eats! 1/1/2007

I must say that the food here is good don't really like the margarita's here. But, the mexican martina's are good. If you sit in the bar area there is a chip and salsa bar. Pros: Great eats Cons: Always busy more

Too watered down to deserve the name Chuy's 3/19/2005

I really like the Chuy's locations on Barton Springs and N. Lamar--good food, a variety of delicious salsas, and goofy atmosphere. So I was happy to meet some friends at the Round Rock location ... until I dipped in to the salsa and it tasted like ketchup. Yes, someone has decided that for the suburbanites, everything had to be watered down. This particular Chuy's is not that different from Mexican places in Indiana, where I grew up! Here's a suggestion for Round Rockers who still have taste buds: make the drive to the Chuy's on North Lamar, or try La Morada on Parmer. more
