Dissapointed in food 9/18/2011

I've been there a couple of times, I like the way it looks inside, very cozy. I was disappointed when I got my burger with grilled salmon. It smelled awful! I didn't loose the courage and I went there second time with my boyfriend. I got day's special-a fish fillet with mushrooms. I didn't like it. Third time, when I went there, I got just a salad with tuna. That was good, but... my cousin who went there with me, got salad with chicken, and (watch out) the chicken was grounded just like my tuna! with the bones!!! That was my last time when I went there. Never ever again. more

Friendly local spot 12/11/2007

I was walking down Manhattan Avenue last night after a long day of Xmas shopping in Manhattan. I was pretty hungry and wasn't in the mood to cook, but also didn't want to spend a lot of money. I wandered in to Christina's shortly before 9pm, which is just about closing time. The waitress was super friendly, first greeting me in Polish, but quickly realizing I would need the English menu. She pointed out the specials and even helped me choose 2 sides. In fifteen minutes I was home eating my hearty tasty warm meal of Chicken Cutlet with mushrooms, mashed potato and cucumber salad, all for $9. I had such a nice experience, especially after a few hours in Soho and considering I just moved to Greenpoint from Park Slope, that my boyfriend and I went back for breakfast today. I'm looking forward to exploring the many other local, inexpensive home cooking in the neighborhood. I would recommend this spot for all in the neighborhood. Pros: Inexpensive home cooking, friendly welcoming staff, great for locals Cons: rustic ambience but it adds to the charm more

Simple, Polish, Good & Cheap 6/17/2003

One of the best diners in Greenpoint- good for weekend breakfast/brunch. A solid value - you can have a large breakfast for $6! Cooking can be on the dry side, but the service is very friendly, and the near-identical appearance of the waitresses can make for a good conversation with your fellow-diners. more
