Chris Scesny Construction

We hired Chris to re-roof our garage. Chris' estimate was far more reasonable than many (I interviewed 8 other contractors) but most importantly, Chris clearly has a keener understanding of the underlying principles involved. He is thorough and left the area around the garage as it was upon his crew's arrival. Chris forgot the correct color of the drip edge we requested (he purchased silver, rather than white) but offered immediately to "make it right". He did so and returned some months after completion of the job when we informed him that we noticed leaking around the chimney. He returned and corrected the problem which was created by the PREVIOUS roofer; the roof he installed has had NO leaks whatsoever and looks great. I'm hiring him again to resolve a leak problem on the roof of our house. Chris is very busy and does sometimes take longer than is ideal to return calls but I've found that if I persist nicely, he is responsive eventually. Given his competitive pricing and superior workmanship, the delayed response is a minor inconvenience. Chris is willing to learn as he gains experience. He has earned four and a half stars from us but the site doesn't provide a half star option. more

My house is in Bangor and Chris came right out when I called for a quote. His quote was the lowest and he has a really good rating with the Better Business Beareau so I chose him. He was busy and he told me upfront that we needed to schedule my roof in 2 months. In 2 months he showed up when scheduled and got my roof done in just a few days. I looks great and I have no leaks. more

I worked for chris (under the table, chris refused to put me on the books) for a couple months and from my experience he is professional cleans up sites better than most and is precise! But aside from that his business ethics are highly questionable, example i got hurt (left knee acl tear) on 1 one his work sites (roof-s.main st. brewer) and have been mostly disabled since! Things happen and thats understandable but he outright refused to help me after playing like i never even worked for him. NOT COOL. more

Comment from Chris Scesny: My customers satisfaction is very important to me, I have shown off this roof and deck many times over the past four years and have been hired because of the appearance of the porch and metal roof. We installed custom made screens into the openings of the screened in porch that we built. These screens were designed to lift out of the slots for easy removal during the winter months for storage. The customer choose not to remove the screens for the winter but rather stapled plastic over the screens on the outside of the screens. The wind blew the plastic into the screens and bent the aluminum on the screen. This customer was very challenging, at best, to deal with. In spite of me going the extra mile and fixing the screens that should not have been broken if they had been properly removed during the winter months he left rude voicemails yelling and swearing. I would rather not deal with him again. more

I had a medal roof and screened deck put on last spring. Chris said that he would finish up at the beginning of the spring to secure the screen windows. He has called and mad excueses on why he hasn't showed up yet. At this point I'm calling a lawyer and want to take him to court for not doing his job. So far this year he has called 7 times to say that he is sorry that he hasn't made it over to our house due to that he is so busy. He wasn't busy to come take our money. I have a bathroom that needs to be redone. I will not have him back. He is not reliable. more
