A very bad choice to go and eat. My family and I went there to eat once because it was recommended and when we went in we saw a HUGE COCKROACH on the hot dog bun's sitting out. Di...

Great hotdogs but the building is NOT clean! 12/15/2011

The hot dogs are good, but the fries are over cooked and HARD; fries should not be hard and they NEVER should be thrown on a tiny plate. What is most bothersome is seeing the pink hot dogs on the nasty grill being handled by ladies standing just a few inches from the cash register. Pros: null Cons: null more

Friends 9/13/2010

I loved the hotdogs but most of all I loved the people. Theo would put my kites up in the air, Rose would curl my hair. Uncle Chris would give me a hotdog and a ride home in the evening. I got to watch my 1st TV shows in their home as they had the first TV on the block. They saved my kitten when she got loose and had kittens. Those are the best memories I have of the most wonderful family there was. These things happened in the 50's and I am almost 64. The dogs are still great. more

The Best tasting Hot Dog, anywhere. Just drop by anytime you need snack or a meal. Very friendly, but I do miss Gus, from years, passed.. (the fifties). Dave L more

Good food, but be prepared... 10/29/2007

Chris' Hot Dogs is a good place to eat if you can get past the building itself and the slow service. They are known for their hot dogs, but the other food is also good. The building is horrible. Parking can be tough too. If you are concerned about germs and health ratings, I would probably skip. more

Good hot dogs 5/1/2007

This is a great place to go for just a good old hot dog. They can load them up or leave them as plain as can be. There is nothing very different about them, but they are very good. more

Not the healthiest... 4/27/2007

Ok, you go to Chris' Hot Dogs, your are clearly not looking for diet food. But if you want to splurge on occasion, it's not bad. The special sauce they use really makes them stand out from the rest. Everyone should try it at least once. more

Bad place. 4/13/2007

A very bad choice to go and eat. My family and I went there to eat once because it was recommended and when we went in we saw a HUGE COCKROACH on the hot dog bun's sitting out. Disgusted, we left and have not gone back since. DO NOT GO THERE! more

Can't Understand the Hoopla 4/12/2007

I have been to Chris' only once, and I honestly cannot understand\r besides Chris' being an "Montgomery icon" what is all the hoopla\r of their hot dogs.\r Besides being too long to wait to get a seat, I found the hot dogs just OK not exceptional and rather pricey as well. more

An old Montgomery icon 4/12/2007

You must make it a point to get a Chris' hot dog (or two.) This is the best dog you'll ever eat. It's a small out place, so don't get upset by the wait, it is worth it. more

An Icon in Montgomery 4/11/2007

If you have never had a Chris' hot dog then you are missing out. This restaurant is an American icon in downtown Montgomery. Everyone loves Chris' Hot Dogs. It is not the newest place and may be hard to get to sometimes, but it is well worth trying if you never have. more

A Montgomery Tradition 1/28/2003

Downtown lunch goers have been enjoying Chris' Hot Dogs for decades now, and most would say a visit to Montgomery wouldn't be complete without a Chris' Dog. While the menu seems typical of a lunch counter type establishment (hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, etc.) the food is very good, and has a flavor unique to the establishment. The restaurant itself it seems, has not been remodelled since the 50s, witnessed by its dark interior and outdated decorations. Service is ok, usually provided by grandmotherly types whom one feels one should be helping carry the trays. Parking is horrible, be prepared to hoof it from one of the garages. Recommendation: Definitely try it - but order take out and eat it at the Court Square Fountain down the block. Pros: Great lunch food, Low prices Cons: Terrible parking, Needs new decor more
