Chops Restaurant

I have been going to Chops and never had a bad experience at anytime with the food, service, or hospitality. I can't believe that anyone could have had the bad experience mentioned below. Face it, it sounds like a bad experience happened before they got to Chops. I have dined at Chops dozens of times with my wife, and friends, and never, heard a negative comment about anything. Never once did any waiter ask the men first for their drink order, let alone forget the women at the table. The only people you may have to track down would be Alex and Justin as they make their rounds to see if there is anything more than can do for you. This is place you want to be. My wife and I have never had a bad meal or experience here. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE EXPERIENCE OF DINNING AT CHOPS. As with the previous scrivener, I simply cannot comprehend a negative review on this place! We have gone at all different times, on different days and never once have we had anything that remotely resembled a negative experience at Chops. Should you go at a peak time without a reservation, it is possible to wait a bit, but it is worth it if jou're ""jonesing"" a great steak! The staff there has always been friendly and very attentive, we have had consistently great steaks and one really nice thing about Chops.. the classic Steakhouse side orders...are never swimming in oil, as they are in other ""famous"" Philly steakhouses. First I have to say that I do not agree with the negative comments and feedback regarding this restaurant. If I had to describe Chops in one word, it would be ""consistent."" I do not consider myself a regular, but every time I go, I am however, treated like one. From the polite and friendly managers to the 'top notch' and always smiling servers, this place is by far, the hottest spot on the Main Line. The martinis are enormous, the steaks are Prime Aged, and the overall experience is terrific. We have never experienced such a complete breakdown in service or such mediocre food at an estabishment that is so highly rated. It was so bad, it felt as if we were on the show ""Punked"". It stared the moment we sat down. The waited took the men's drink order but failed to ask the women! I had to track him down. Our meal was slow to come and we had to go to the bar ourselves for the second round. When the steaks arrived, the waiter asked us to cut into them to see if we all got the correct steak. Mine was well done (asked for med rare). Second steak came back done correctly, but did not have the cajun spices (special). Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I rather eat at Chops than drive to the city. The food was great, and the prices were much better than the highly priced steak houses in the city. Service to me was very good. They really took care of my wife and I. Pros: Free Valet, Great Service, Great Food more

They really should get their act together, they have a nice place and great parking, however they have lot's of problems in the kitchen getting the food cooked properly and getting it out to the customer, if they were in NY they would be out of business. I had a wonderful experience at Chops and I didn't even have a reservation when I stopped to eat dinner there. I had to wait approximately 1/2 hour for a table but it was well worth it. more

The atmosphere was elegant and the food was world class. I thought the owner Alex Plotkin was not only a charming host but had an impressive knowledge of the wine selections. This is my #1 choice for a romantic dinner in a nicely unassuming location. more

I went to a surprise party for my friend last month at Chops and had the greatest time. They took care of everything!! We had our own private room which was perfect! The management and servers were friendly and helped us set up for the event. Food was delicious and the drinks didn't stop coming!
