You know the saying - if you are one in a million, there are 1,600 of you in China. There are probably 1,600 resturants as good as China Village in China, but only a few in the US. Chowhound.com has generated a great little cult around CV, for good reason. It's the only place I've ever had the tastes I ate in China. It looks like every other Chinese place, but the adventerous diner is well rewarded by choosing non-standard dishes, or just telling the staff you "like it hot" - although they use real Szchuan peppercorns, which are spicy, not hot like habeneros.
Won the best Chinese in the bay award by some paper this year.
If you don't like unusual tastes, stay away. Especially don't order the water dumplings in special sauce.
Surprisingly good for large groups - they have a room with large chinese style tables that will fit your whole family on a saturday night.
