I can't believe somebody gave this place a Bad review!!! We moved 50 miles away and STILL drive all the way there for Chinese--YES, it's THAT GOOD. \r The almond chicken, sweet & sour chicken and chicken fried rice are AMAZING and you get TONS of food for your money. more

SIZZLING RICE SOUP WOW 2/26/2012

A mega $5 bowl of soup loaded with chicken, shrimp, mushrooms and veggies then topped with a baked rice that sizzles when stirred in the mix,, you'll think pop rocks and dig in the bowl is almost 2 quarts and a meal in it's own. The almond boneless chicken and eggs rolls were good along with the garlic sauced chicken and another favorite the hot and sour soup,,,wow low prices lunch for 2 and drinks with tax under $15 and you'll have left over's LOVE IT more

Great Food 4/28/2010

I order from here often, usually ridiculously large orders...and they never miss a thing. Food is always great, their sesame chicken is fabulous great chicken fried rice too...love the sprouts in there! Not sure what the other poster down there is talking about, I have never ever had a problem. Can't please everyone I guess. Pros: Great Food! Cons: Need to work on their egg rolls more

Not in my book 3/20/2009

I did a yahoo search for Thai restaurants while I was visiting my grandmother in Southgate and 3 popped up including this one. We chose this one by virtue of being geographically closest. I have to say, this was BY FAR the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. And I couldn't wait to leave this place. Oh, and I guess that having one curry dish on your menu qualifies you as a Thai restaurant according to Yahoo. You can tell it's a family run affair, which is normally endearing. And maybe it would be if it weren't for the young man I first noticed upon entering. This boy's job description must be to answer phones...I think. The problem is, he obviously doesn't want to be there. We constantly heard him yelling, complaining, and antagonizing other employee's FROM THE BACK ROOM throughout our dinner. It was really obnoxious. The place was not clean and the food was terrible. We waited for about 35 minutes for food that tasted like it had been sitting around since morning. The rice was dried out and disgusting, the food itself was greasy. The only good points here were the portion sizes, fact that you can choose 2 entrees in a meal, and the sweet little waitress that we had. She was very nice she just couldn't make up for the rest of the experience. Save your money and go to Hong Kong on Dix or if you're looking for inexpensive try Dragon Buffet on Dix & Eureka. China Star??? Not in my book! Pros: friendly waitstaff Cons: just about everything else stunk more

Yummy, quick and tons of food. 6/11/2008

China Star has fantastic food. They are always packed, proving that it's good stuff. The young girls are always sweet when they wait on you, but the young boy who works seems to be not to thrilled to wait on people. \r We love the chicken brocolli, cashew chicken, General Chicken, and the egg rolls! Great food, good value. Pros: Tons of tasty food. Cons: Sometimes, on weekends you'll be waiting for a bit. I would not recommend eating in. more

Can feed about 3 people with one dinner. Huge portions, and I've never had anything bad. I suggest the lo mein, almond or general tso's chicken. You can't go wrong. Defintely order out though; although recently remodeled, still small and not very comfy. Pros: inexpensive more

What a value!! 7/8/2004

I love China Star! The prices are great and you get so much food!! Wonderful food at that! The General Tso's Chicken is the best! Did i mention how much they give you?!!! TONS!!! Pros: TONS OF FOOD, GREAT PRICE, FRIENDLY STAFF more

Food...Tons of Great Food!!! 10/21/2002

Great food and holy cow do you get tons of it. The prices seem a tad high until you see the amount you get. My wife easily makes two meals out of one order!!! Great family owned resturant with ""like home"" service...very friendly and sweet. I suggest the General Tso's Chicken while the wife enjoys the Almond Chicken, which comes with 8 full chicken breasts!!!! Pros: Great Food, Fast Caryout, Reasonable Prices Cons: Small Eating Area more
