WORST DIM SUM EVER!!! 11/6/2007

We recently relocated from Atlanta to the Triangle area and have been looking for some decent dim sum. Neo China was OK, but we were looking for something comparable to the amazing Dim Sum restaurants on Buford Highway (Happy Valley and Canton House, just to name 2). We saw the great reviews on citysearch and decided to check it out one morning. \r \r Pure horror. The staff was pushy and unhelpful, they wouldn't leave us alone. And the food... so horrible. Everything was ice cold, like it had been made 6 hours ago and they just left it on the cart. The barbacued pork was bland and tough. Siu Mai was tasteless and gummy. The fried pork and mushroom dumplings were cold, greasy, and extra chewy. After choking down the abominations (which are normally some of our favorites) we decided to cut our losses and head for the door. \r \r Avoid, avoid, avoid! Pros: You don't have to worry about overeating. Cons: everything else more

Great Dim Sum 11/21/2006

I've enjoyed dim sum in other major cities (NY, DC, Miami) and this is among the best! I was really happy with the array of dishes and the energy of the many happy Chinese clientele. It was a lot of fun and inexpensive... my fiancee and I spent less than $20 (including tip) for a Sunday dim sum meal. Just be aware that the environment is not ""fancy"" it is just clean and utilitarian. Anyway... you're going for the food... not the furniture! Pros: Inexpensive, fast service, busy but efficient Cons: ambience more

Dim Sum is the best 5/19/2006

The Dim Sum served here is on par with any served in Boston's Chinatown restaurants. The servers try to explain what's in the steamers if you ask.We travel 50 miles each way to eat at this restaurant at least once a month! You can't go wrong in choosing China One!! Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Pleasant servers more

Love dim sum!!! 10/21/2003

Dont know what kind of food China One serves on weekdays, but they serve the best dim sum at lunch (weekends)!!! Seriously, their dim sum is awesome, comparable to Chinatowns in NY and DC!!! Little pork/shrimp/or veggie stuffed dumplings, eggplant w/shrimp stuffing, sauteed clams... the list goes on... The best way to describe dim sum is that its like bite-size appetizers (usually 3-4 pieces) that are served hot (reasonable price, $2-3/plate). We love going there and trying everything. We love the fact that we can see what they offer (they push the steam carts by each table). The only thing that hinders us from going more often is that the wait can get long, and the parking can get chaotic. But sometimes we just deal with it because the foods great! Pros: authentic treats, reasonably priced, freshly prepared Cons: long wait, inadequate parking more

Our favorite place for Chinese Food 7/9/2003

You can often gauge a good authentic Chinese restaurant by the number of Chinese patrons that go there. We have only gone to China One for dim sum (Saturday and Sunday between 11:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m.), and usually over half of the patrons are Asian. I love eating dim sum at China One. As soon as you're seated (and sometimes this can be a long wait, for it gets crowded during peak dim sum time) waitstaff come around pushing carts filled with delicious treats. You can just look and choose whatever you'd like! Eating dim sum at China One is my favorite dining experience in the area. If you want to get seated right away, I'd suggest getting there close to 11:00 a.m., or later like around 2:00 p.m. Pros: great dim sum, prompt service Cons: crowded parking, so-so ambience more

Nothing spectacular 11/20/2002

I've eaten here a couple of times with coworkers. The food isn't great, the service is okay. Not much buffet selection either. more

Decent, but not great 8/12/2002

The food is good, but not good enough to counter the so-so service or the complete lack of parental aids. Of the 8 high chairs, only one had all parts in working order, and I had to change my baby in our car since the bathroom was inadequate. Maybe OK for quick lunches during work. Cons: NOT child-friendly more
