Great Food and Service 5/6/2010

I really like this place. The service is great and the food is really good. I've never had to wait a long time for a table, even during busy times. It's a great place to go for an inexpensive night out. more

great food and service 6/14/2007

My family has been going to Chna Chef for the last 35 years. For as long as we have been going to this place we have had great service and great food. The staff is very freindly and helpful. We will keep going back for as long as they are around. No matter many people you have or how much food you order, you always have left overs. more

Rude waiters ! 3/14/2006

Visited often - reasonable in price - But I must say the service is so poor. My husband wanted to take home his left overs and arriving home they had dumped all exception with a tiny bit of rice. The waiter was so rude - I will never go back. Pros: lots of food , low price for lunch Cons: rude service more

Best Chinese in the area 7/27/2005

Chinese is such a hard food to take a chance at ordering. Living in the city I am used to world class chinese resturants with a different flair and taste from the rest. China Chef makes thier chinese thier own. Awesome egg rolls that differ from all the rest with thier own ingredients. Steak and chicken dishes with quality meats and vegetables. 5 stars will visit frequently in the future more

GREAT FOOD AND EXCELLENT FAST SERVICE 6/10/2005

I regularly go out of my wat to eat at this chinese restaurant because they have excellent food. They are not overly busy most of the time. You can choose to sit in either the smoking or non smoking sections. If you choose non smoking make sure you are not right next the the wall with round holes in it that the smoke (from the smokers on the opposite side of the wall) drifts in to you. Their food if fantastic and their service is fast and you never wait long for appetizers and you main meals to arrive. PROS: Excellent service and food CONS: Dont sit next to the wall that separates the smoking room from non smoking more

Eggrolls were not good. Just another place using the thick eggroll skins instead of the thin skins.The eggrolls were also filled with some kind of cabbage,shrimp, and ginger mush. Soups were also mediocre. Food was good as compared to other places we have been. Service was outstanding. Would go back just for the service alone. Overall... a tad better than average. The best Egg Rolls 10/7/2002

I've been a regular at this place for 20 years...and it's always been great. The egg rolls are just like my favorite Chinese restaurant made them in Oak Park when I was a kid. The Won Ton Soup has huge slabs of lean barbeque pork layered across the top and the pot stickers always run out too quick (and they give you alot!) Try something off of the traditional Chinese menu...there's alot of unique things there. My favorites, the szchewan green beans or the baby bok choy with black mushrooms. If I was a vegetarian...I'd ask to live in the kitchen. We always order carry out on Christmas Eve from here...I know, it's wacky, but we love it! more

worth the drive! 10/3/2002

the food, the atmosphere are out of this world. I come from Alabama three times a year for the egg rolls and shrimp w/lobster sauce. When we finally moved here, we spent so much time here the employees started to think we moved in. Great!! Pros: food, atmosphere, great decor Cons: price, poor parking, not handicap able more
